The Curtis family had always dreamed that Andrea would marry Max, thinking an alliance with him would guarantee their future. Jeremy leaned back, thinking. “Darin grew up completely under the Curtis family’s thumb. No power, no influence, nothing. He met Max when he was studying in the States. They probably struck up a secret partnership back then. If they’re having issues now, it’s definitely not over some minor business squabble. Honestly, there’s almost no way they’d fall out over money or interests.”

Even if they did have a disagreement, neither of them would let it blow up to the point where it hurt their own positions, when the Curtis family was watching Darin’s every move, just waiting for him to slip up so they could pounce.
