After a quick chat with Anne, Felicia ended the call and headed downstairs, where she ran into Luke.
“Hey Luke, how’s work going lately?”
Luke let out a tired laugh. “It’s the end of the year. You know how it is. I’m just counting down the days until I can finally take a break. How about you, Felicia? Been busy?”
Felicia nodded. “Busy doesn’t even begin to cover it. I bet your company’s numbers are even better than last year, right?” Over the past few years, Luke’s projects had been mostly wins. The younger generation of the Hawthorne family definitely knew what they were doing in business.
Luke flashed a grin. “Yeah, it’s been a solid year. We’re looking at hitting fifty million.”
Felicia raised an eyebrow, teasing him. “Look at you. Young and killing it.”
Just then, Greg called out, “Luke.”
“Hey, Greg.” Luke smiled and the two exchanged a few words before Ava waved everyone over for breakfast.
Once Felicia got to the office, her Monday kicked off in full force. The morning was swallowed up by a senior management meeting, most of it focused on the TC Project collaboration. The news that such a huge project had landed with Roen Capital left the higher-ups stunned, especially since everyone knew it had been in Max’s hands before.
When Jeremy shared the update, Anthony looked especially shocked. He glanced at Felicia and seemed to piece it all together instantly, but it was still almost unbelievable. Max had actually given up such a major project just to keep his marriage with Felicia on track.
After the meeting, the executives were all smiles. This project would more than make up for the losses Silva Capital suffered from Max’s earlier moves. Looking back, it seemed like he’d brought that mess on himself.
Anthony caught up to Felicia. “He didn’t make you agree to anything crazy, did he?”
