Seeing her behaving so righteously while throwing a tantrum, Max sneered. "You really think you are completely justified here?"
Felicia clenched her fingers tightly, refusing to dignify him with a response.
Max uncapped the antiseptic spray and administered it over her wound. Felicia gritted her teeth and scrunched her face in pain.
"Why did you not call me when you left Goldenridge?" Max demanded aggressively.
Felicia remained completely silent.
Without pausing his ministrations, Max shot her a venomous glare and continued his interrogation. "Why did you not tell me about the pregnancy? You purposely avoided me and ran off with Jeremy to the edge of the world. Do you really like him that much?" His questions battered her relentlessly while his hands efficiently treated her injury.
Felicia curled her fingers into fists, her breathing growing shallow and rapid. Her chest heaved dramatically as an indescribable, agonizing squeeze gripped her heart.
"Got nothing to say?" he goaded, firmly applying a bandage over the bite.
Felicia abruptly stood up and marched toward the door. Max instantly caught her wrist. "Where do you think you are going?"
Her eyes rimmed with angry red, Felicia glared at him and raised her voice. "I am going to sleep."
"You are sleeping right here," Max ordered, his tone laced with uncompromising authority.
"Where I sleep is my own business. Why should I listen to you?" Felicia shot back.
"Try walking out that door today and see what happens," Max threatened dangerously.
Biting down hard on her lower lip, Felicia forcefully tried to yank her hand out of his grip.
