After leaving the airport, Jeremy took Felicia to a hospital in the city center for a thorough medical checkup, which fortunately revealed no abnormalities. Afterward, they hired a car to take them to the pre-booked Azure Springs Resort, widely known as the best location to view the Northern Lights.
In September, the temperature in Reykjavik hovered around a chilly fifty degrees Fahrenheit, and the weather was famously fickle, currently drizzling with rain. Wrapped tightly in a thick down jacket, Felicia felt perfectly warm inside the heated car. She noticed Jeremy was only wearing a cashmere sweater beneath a trench coat. "Are you not cold, Jeremy?" she asked.
Jeremy looked at her with a soft smile. "Not at all. Do you want to see for yourself?" As he spoke, he reached a hand out toward her.
Felicia glanced at it before tentatively placing her hand in his. A searing heat instantly transferred from his palm to hers. She quickly pulled her hand back.
Jeremy's fingers curled slightly as he withdrew his hand. "Your hands are a bit cold."
"I think they are just fine," Felicia countered. "It is your body temperature that is running high."
"You should still bundle up," Jeremy advised kindly.
The drive to Azure Springs Resort took about fifty minutes. That very evening, under the guidance of the resort staff, they were treated to a breathtaking display of the Northern Lights. The magnificent auroras draped across the sky like giant silk curtains fluttering in an ethereal breeze, rolling and shifting across the heavens. Bursting with excitement, Felicia eagerly snapped photos with her camera. They were incredibly lucky to witness the aurora on their very first day. It was mesmerizingly beautiful. Only by standing beneath that massive, shifting canopy could one truly appreciate the overwhelming majesty of nature.
"Jeremy, let’s take a picture," Felicia urged.
"Alright," he agreed willingly. The resort staff happily obliged, snapping several beautiful photos of them together. The display lasted for over an hour, a phenomenally rare treat.
By the time the spectacle faded, Felicia was thoroughly exhausted. Jeremy escorted her back to her room. "Wash up and go straight to sleep."
"I will. Goodnight, Jeremy."
