The license plates of the luxury cars weren't local.
Nolan frowned slightly. He had a feeling they were here for him. Sure enough, when he approached, an elderly man with graying hair stepped out of one of the cars.
The elderly man appeared excited as he looked at Nolan. "You must be Nolan Greene."
Nolan nodded in response. "And you are?"
After hearing Nolan confirm his identity, the elderly man grew even more excited. "My name is Walter Kaufman. I'm one of the directors of Norwich Group. Mr. Greene, may I have a word with you?"
Nolan wasn't surprised to hear he was from Norwich Group. From the moment he used Norwich card to pay for the Crystal of Devotion, he knew they would eventually come looking for him.
It wasn't intentional, but since he had done it, he was prepared for this meeting. After all, he would have to meet them sooner or later.
"Mr. Kaufman, was it? Please, come in." Nolan headed upstairs and opened the door to his room.
Walter instructed the others to stay downstairs and followed Nolan into his room alone.
As soon as Walter entered the room, he spoke up eagerly before even taking a seat, "Mr. Greene, may I ask you a question?"
Nolan smiled and nodded. "Sure, but there's no need to rush. Please have a seat, Mr. Kaufman. Enjoy some coffee and take a moment to relax," he said before pouring Walter a cup of coffee.
Walter's eyes lit up after taking a sip. "What kind of coffee is this? I've never tasted anything so delightful. Not only is it sweet, but I feel warmth spreading through me, leaving me feeling relaxed."
Nolan nodded. "It's true. I was initially reluctant to accept, but Mr. Norwich Senior had done me a great favor. To put his mind at ease, I had no choice but to reluctantly take on the responsibility.
Walter didn't know how to respond to that. Nolan was reluctant to accept Henry's shares and manage a group worth hundreds of billions of dollars?
He was reluctant to be granted special authority to manage all matters concerning the Norwich family and even influence the selection of the family patriarch?
These were all extraordinary privileges that countless people would envy, yet to Nolan, they seemed more like a burden.
Walter felt somewhat uneasy at this.
"Mr. Greene, do you realize what you're saying? We're talking about the highest authority among Norwich Group and the family."
