Meanwhile, after they got home, Audrey pulled Kara aside and said seriously, "Kara, you were really rude just now. Do you realize that?"
Kara was defiant as she snapped, "Audrey, that was Nolan! I know you've loved that man for many years. You loved him so much that you've practically lost your friends over him. But is he really worth it?
"He's an ex-convict who was dumped by his own wife after getting out of prison. He's just clinging to you like a lifeline, and you're actually willing to throw away everything for him? You're being foolish.
"He doesn't love you. He's bringing you harm."
Audrey sighed. "Kara, you don't understand. You'll get it once I explain everything to you."
Kara covered her ears and huffed in frustration. "I don't want to hear about your mess. All I know is that you two are a terrible match. He's not good enough for you, and he'll only bring you down.
"In any case, I don't approve. He's just a pathetic man who's been rejected and discarded. He doesn't love you, and he doesn't deserve to love you.
"You need to think this through, but I'll never approve of you being with him."
With that, Kara stormed off in a huff.
Audrey watched Kara leave helplessly, thinking she'd have to explain everything later. She knew Kara was only looking out for her and genuinely cared for her.
Even though Kara was just her cousin, they were closer than sisters. She didn't blame Kara for misunderstanding the situation. In fact, anyone might have jumped to the same conclusion.

Meanwhile, in the hospital room, Nicholas was on the verge of madness.
His injuries were horrifying, but what was even more terrifying was his mental state, which fluctuated between moments of clarity and insanity. He was a completely broken man.
Robert was about to leave when Lynette grabbed his hand. Her voice was choked with emotion when she told him, "Don't do anything foolish. Nicholas is already like this, and if anything also happens to you, how am I supposed to live?"
A flicker of madness flashed through Robert's cold gaze. "Live? I don't want to live anymore. No one will stop me from getting my revenge.
"Audrey, that bitch! She's the cause of all of this. Just wait and see. I won't let them get away with it!"
Robert immediately shook off Lynette's hand and stormed out of the hospital room. No one knew where he was going or who he was going to see, but Lynette knew this matter was far from over. It was going to get much worse.
Meanwhile, Nolan was still clueless. Had he known Robert still hadn't given up and would be bent on revenge, he might have employed more ruthless methods earlier, perhaps even crippling him entirely.
Alas, Nolan couldn't have known. He was just a man, after all, not God.
When he returned to his neighborhood, he noticed three luxury cars parked in front of his home.
