Scarlet was like a monster that didn't even care about the people close to him. He was a straightforward man who was slightly insane as well. When he did something, it usually didn't involve any logical thinking.
Other than Nolan, he doesn't respect anyone at all.
Archie didn't know anything about this. But since Nolan had a gigantic house like Misty Hill, he figured it was normal for Nolan to have his own protection as well.
"In that case, I shan't embarrass myself further, Mr. Greene. However, my offer still stands. If you need me, I'll do my best to help you whenever and wherever!" Archie downed a huge glass of wine after he said that.
Nolan nodded at him and said, "Thank you, Mr. Baxter. Since you're risking your family's safety by being on my side, I'm in your debt. However, you don't actually have to worry about me that much."
Although Archie didn't know what Nolan had prepared, he still felt a huge sense of relief after hearing what he said.
"I don't know why, Mr. Greene, but my anxiousness is gone after I spoke to you. It looks like I can finally get a good night's sleep tonight. Thank you, Mr. Greene," Archie said and bowed toward Nolan to thank him.
Nolan nodded with a smile. "It's getting late, and we've drunk enough wine for now. You should head back early to get some rest, Mr. Baxter."
When Archie heard that, he looked at the time and noticed it was almost 10:00 pm.
He immediately stood up and said with a smile, "Time sure flies when I'm chatting with you. I'll never be bored of it. Have a good rest, Mr. Greene. I'll be taking my leave now."
Then, he left Nolan's house.
When he stepped out of the door, Archie felt relaxed.
As he reached downstairs, he noticed that Lincoln was waiting for him.
He said with a smile, "Lincoln you should've drunk with Mr. Greene and I! I feel so much better after talking to him."
When Lincoln saw how happy Archie was, he felt a little bad. That was because it might be the last day Archie would be that happy.
After Shaun starts snatching power away from Archie the next day, he might not be able to smile anymore.
Archie looked at him and said with a subtle smile, "What are you saying, Lincoln? Why would you possibly let me down? After all, we've been through so much together over the years, and you're like a brother to me. There's no way we can let each other down.
"Besides, even if you did do something to disappoint me, I'm sure you'll have a good reason for it. So, why would I blame you?"
When Lincoln heard that, he felt like crying. Archie trusted him without a doubt. In fact, he would even trust Lincoln with his life.
However, Lincoln was really going to let Archie down this time.
They used to be able to go through everything together, and he didn't understand why it had to come to this.
Lincoln was trembling. If he could, he really wanted to go back on his word. However, he couldn't do it.
"Will you really not blame me? Maybe you'll hate me when the time comes. However, I want to tell you that I really have no other choice. I had to make the tough decision for you and the Baxter family. You can blame me all you want, but please don't ignore me, alright?" he mumbled while looking at Archie.
Suddenly, Archie looked as if he had become a little sober. He sat up straight and looked at Lincoln.
