The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 203

Meanwhile, Archie was drinking at Nolan's house.

He said with a smile, "Mr. Greene, actually, I've been meaning to suggest that you move out of here. What do you think about moving in with the Baxter family?

"Of course, if you think it's inconvenient, we have some other villas in Bellington that you can stay in. Most importantly, it'll be easier for our men to protect you if you stay there."

Nolan finished a shot of wine and smiled. "Thank you, Mr. Baxter. However, I can take care of myself."

Archie already knew what Nolan was capable of, but the enemy this time was Gregory. So, he didn't dare to let his guard down.

Archie said, "I'm still worried, Mr. Greene. After all, our enemy this time is Gregory Lynch. Those three hitmen are just three random men to him. If he really went all out, I'm afraid that it'll be hard for you to protect yourself."

He didn't dare to say everything that was on his mind, but Nolan knew what he was thinking.

Nolan said, "Mr. Baxter, you're thinking that Gregory won't be able to go all out if the Baxter family protects me, right? There's actually no need for that.

"We might be friends, but I can't let your whole family be in danger because of me. So, it isn't wise for you to do this. I suggest that you think this through. After all, this involves the safety of the Baxters."

Nolan knew that Archie wouldn't offend Gregory because of him. However, with everything that had happened so far, he wouldn't count on it.

Archie looked at him and said softly, "The Baxters offended a lot of people to get to where we are today. However, we did a lot of good deeds as well. Most importantly, we're extremely loyal. Since you've saved our family once, there's no way I'm going to watch from the side while you're in danger.

"It's true that Gregory is a tough enemy and that the Baxters will be in great danger if we went against him. However, there are things in life that we can't ignore. I'm willing to take the risk for my faith, and I believe my family will understand and support me as well."

Nolan looked at Archie meaningfully. "You're a good and loyal man, Mr. Baxter. Don't worry. The Baxters will continue to thrive under your management for a long time. Here, let's have a toast!"

Archie smiled as he clinked his glass with Nolan's. "Thanks for the kind words, Mr. Greene. However, I would still like for you to consider moving over."

Nolan shook his head with a smile. "There's no need for that. After all, I already have a place to stay."

Archie already knew that Nolan was no average Joe, but he never expected him to be that impressive.

"Mr. Greene, y-you sure are full of surprises," he said.

Nolan shook his head again while smiling. "That's nothing. I had to do a lot to afford it."

"Mr. Greene, if it isn't troublesome, I would really like to visit the place. I want to admire your property. After all, you designed the place yourself, and I can really learn a thing or two from you."

Nolan nodded happily. "Feel free to visit whenever you like. Now, can you stop worrying? You don't need to arrange anyone for me. I have someone coming that'll be arriving soon."

Nolan's eyes lit up as he said that.

That "someone" that he was referring to wasn't just some random person, nor was it someone Fang had arranged for him. Instead, it was Scarlet, the peculiar man who terrified Fang.
