The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 956

When she reached the end, Charlotte glanced back and flipped off the camera without a second thought.

Watching her half-hidden face on the monitor, G2 felt his mind go blank. He just stared, stunned. Was he overthinking this? Why did Charlotte look so much like Mrs. W?

Mrs. W had left the Isle of Veil for Eldoria years ago and vanished without a trace. No news, no contact, nothing. He must be imagining things.

Aloys arrived just then, took one look at the screen, and instantly understood what was going on.

“So that’s the girl who stirred up trouble at The Gilded Wheel,” Aloys said, his eyes cold as he focused on the monitor. “Seriously, what is she thinking, messing around on the Isle of Veil again and again?”

“It won’t matter if she got those files,” the doctor said, frowning. “When Mrs. W left, she took the catalyst for the antidote with her.”

Without that key ingredient, which nobody in the institute had managed to identify after all these years, there was no way to make a substitute. No substitute meant no antidote.

“But…” The doctor’s voice changed, a hint of excitement slipping in as he glanced at Aloys’s dark expression. “If that girl is looking for the cure, maybe she’s a gene mutant too?”

Aloys narrowed his eyes. He pulled out his phone right away, his voice sharp and menacing. “Lock down every exit from the Isle of Veil. Find that girl.”

“If she’s a gene mutant…” Aloys looked at G2, who was well into his seventies now. A slow, eager smile crept onto his face. “We’re just one step away from making this work.”

“Exactly,” G2 replied, almost trembling with excitement.
