Charlotte arched an eyebrow and motioned for him to get started. Then she slipped out of the car and wandered over to a spot the cameras couldn’t see.
Anthony watched her go, a crease forming between his brows. He had no doubts about her skills, but ever since the symptoms started showing up, even the smallest change in her made his heart clench with worry.
“Anthony, time for your shift,” Jackson said quietly from the driver’s seat.
Anthony glanced at Charlotte, who looked completely at ease, like she was just coming home. He couldn’t help but chuckle. She really did act like she owned the place.
He turned his attention to his laptop, fingers moving fast over the keys. In just ten seconds, every light in the research building flicked off. All the doors with electronic locks froze shut, trapping anyone inside. The halls exploded with shouts and alarms.
In the darkness, a figure pulled out a grappling rope, hooked it onto a sturdy tree nearby, and with smooth, practiced moves, climbed over the wall and landed on the second floor.
Jackson shot a look over his shoulder. He was working his own computer, but his eyes were glued to Anthony. His heart raced. The research center’s security was next level. Once attacked, it could easily fight back. Most people wouldn’t even stand a chance.
But Anthony wasn’t most people.
He was always so gentle with Charlotte, everyone tended to forget he was the leader of X Organization. He was the one who had actually beaten Charlotte before.

Charlotte found G2’s office in no time. It only took a few seconds to crack the password and slip inside. She changed the code on her way in, just for good measure. Then she strolled over to the computer.
She nudged a chair over with her foot and sat down, totally relaxed, and powered up the machine. Triple security passwords. Not bad.
A small smile tugged at her lips as she got to work. In no time, she broke into the database. When she saw what was inside, her eyes went cold. Just as she’d guessed.
