"Wallace has sacrificed a lot for the development of traditional medicine. I hope you can look at his contributions and give The Cabinda University one more chance."
Charlotte stopped and tilted her head. Her answer was brief. "Fine."
Fine? What did she mean by fine?
Before Glenn could process her response, Charlotte disappeared from his sight.
Charlotte made her way back to her classroom.
Class had already been in session for five minutes.
Carrying her backpack, she rolled her neck to stretch the stiff muscles before politely knocking on the door.
At the sound, every single head in the room snapped in her direction.
A second later.
Everyone stood up in perfect unison. With wide eyes and solemn expressions, they offered her their utmost respect.
"Asclepius, you're here."
The professor set down his pen and hurried over with a bright, welcoming smile. "You just finished the competition yesterday. Why aren't you resting at home?"
He was incredibly flattered that Asclepius had graced his lecture with her personal presence.
Charlotte rubbed the tip of her nose, a flicker of irritation flashing through her eyes.
The hassle of having her identity exposed had officially begun.
***
She had four classes that morning.
Sitting quietly in the back row, Charlotte pulled out her laptop.
At the front of the room, the professor was sweating profusely.
His eyes kept darting toward Asclepius, and his voice trembled with sheer nerves.
In all his years of teaching, he had never delivered such a difficult lecture.
The moment the bell rang, the professor let out a massive sigh of relief.
Perfect timing.
It was exactly noon.
Charlotte checked her phone. Aside from a text from Wallace, she saw a push notification from Twitter.
It announced a personnel change at The Cabinda University.
The Dean of the Medical School had stepped down, and Vinson was brought back to serve as the interim dean until a permanent replacement was appointed.
Knowing Charlotte was coming, Shirley had been waiting by the entrance.
The moment she spotted her, she practically sprinted over.
"No classes today?" Charlotte nudged Anthony aside, letting Shirley link arms with her.
The two girls walked ahead, leaving Anthony trailing behind.
Come to think of it.
This was his first time accompanying her in a fully public appearance.
And Charlotte had just casually tossed him to the back?
Anthony furrowed his brow, a faint trace of displeasure crossing his strikingly handsome face.
"Charlotte, I heard you're going to be a mentor. The medical students are losing their minds."
Shirley said excitedly, "They all know you're coming and are waiting at the entrance."
Asclepius was the ultimate idol for anyone in the medical field.
Remembering how incredibly arrogant those medical students had acted before...
Shirley couldn't wait to see their faces when they realized who Charlotte really was.
