The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family novel Chapter 4012

Charlie won again in the second round.

After winning two hands in a row, his mood seemed to have skyrocketed. He threw a large handful of one-hundred-dollar chips to Gopher and said, "Change them all into a thousand. A hundred is much too little."

Gopher nodded eagerly and handed the order to a passing waiter.

Charlie casually counted his chips before throwing in ten thousand dollars with a small smile. "I want to beat the dealer three times in a row tonight!"

Seeing that Charlie was full of confidence and wanted to take advantage of the situation, Gopher immediately winked at the dealer.

This round, neither Charlie nor the dealer had a big hand. The dealer was only one point larger than Charlie.

So, the dealer won Charlie’s chips and paid out to the other two players.

However, the other players' bets were miniscule in amount. One was a hundred, and the other was two hundred. Thus, the dealer took back all of his previous losses and even made a profit.

Unbeknownst to the dealer, Charlie already noticed the way he moved his hands when he shuffled the cards.

The dealers in the casino reminded him of Linda, who had worked with Hannah to cheat Elaine, his mother-in-law, in the past. While they didn't look like it, the dealers were actually masters of a thousand techniques.

Their trickery was not a special function. It was similar to a magician who relied on the speed of their hands together with special props and blindfolds.

The dealer standing before Charlie was also a master of trickery. While shuffling the cards, he hid the card that he wanted in the position that would be most beneficial t o him. Using his extremely fast technique and specially trained memory, he managed to arrange the cards in the order he desired.

While his speed could fool ordinary people, Charlie was an exception.

However, Charlie couldn't care less.

Gopher assumed that this trick would make Charlie resentful, leading Charlie into thinking that he was a bit off his game and that he would certainly win the next one.

Charlie knew it all. He pretended to act the way Gopher predicted him to, all for Gopher to think that Charlie had fallen into his trap when reality was the stark opposite.

Charlie’s acting game was perfect. He didn’t disappoint Gopher's expectations, and soon, he fell deeper and deeper into the domino poker game.

After only half an hour, Charlie had lost all of the one hundred thousand chips that he exchanged.

Gopher saw the reluctant look on Charlie's face after Charlie lost the last chip. He quickly stepped forward to comfort Charlie, saying, "Mr. Wade, your card luck seems to be a little down right now. Why don't you take a break and slow down for now? You got a lot of points just now, and I myself thought you’d win. To think the dealer would have a slightly bigger hand than you! What a shame!"

Charlie turned to Gopher with an easy smile. He waved his hand and said nonchalantly, "Winning or losing is normal. Anyway, it doesn't matter since it's just such a small sum of money. At best, that amount is barely enough for a bait."

He then threw the plastic bag with all of his cash to Gopher.“Change all this money into chips for me!"
