The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family novel Chapter 4013

Gopher was over the moon. He took the money and made a beeline for the counter, all too happy to exchange them for chips.

This time, he didn't get chips of a hundred for Charlie. The smallest value of the chips started from a thousand, and then to two thousand, five thousand and ten thousand.

When Gopher returned with the chips, he placed them respectfully in front of Charlie and said politely, "Mr. Wade, your chips. You can count them."

"No need." Charlie didn't even bother to look at them. He took out a chip worth ten thousand Canadian dollars and threw it at Gopher with an indifferent drawl, "This is for you.” 'Oh! Thank you, Mr. Wade. You're so generous!"

Gopher was flattered. Gratitude filled his heart as he kept thanking Charlie, joy spreading throughout all of his body.

Charlie ignored him, took another ten-thousand-dollar chip, and placed it on the table as he knocked on the table top. He turned to the dealer and said, "Come on. Deal the cards."

The dealer nodded before casting a swift glance at Gopher. Gopher crossed his arms, with the left hand on top of the right upper arm. The dealer understood immediately: Gopher wanted Charlie to lose another round. So, the dealer quickly shuffled the cards.

By now, Gopher became the conductor of the entire gambling game.

Charlie would win when Gopher wanted

Charlie to win.

If Gopher wanted Charlie to lose, then Charlie would definitely lose.

Of course, Charlie knew this very well.

But as always, it was of no importance to him.

Even as he lost more and more money, not a trace of displeasure appeared on his face.

Seeing how Charlie never reacted despite losing nearly three hundred thousand Canadian dollars, Gopher was certain that Charlie was indeed ridiculously wealthy. Normal people would be sweating profusely with growing agitation at this point, especially after losing so much.

When Charlie saw that his pile of chips on the poker table was getting smaller and smaller, he waited until he had only had five thousand dollars worth of chips left.

Then, he pushed all of them and said lightly, “Come. The last one."

"That’s for sure!" Gopher laughed. He did not hesitate to say, "I'll make all the arrangements for tomorrow night!”

“Good.” Charlie turned to Stephanie and Claudia. "You two shouldn’t come with me tomorrow night. This place isn't very suitable for you. The air ventilation isn't very good, and all this noise and chaos will be bad for your health."

Claudia was confused.

She didn't understand why Charlie didn't want to take her and Stephanie here with him tomorrow. Wouldn't Stephanie be in danger if the both of them didn't come here?

However, she could not ask him this at the moment as Gopher was around. And so, she simply nodded obediently.

Stephanie also felt that this place was very dull and boring. Plus, it hurt her deeply to see Charlie losing so much money.

She wanted to persuade Charlie so that he

won't come tomorrow, but stopped when a thought crossed her mind. After all, it seemed that Charlie was deliberately losing money, and this was very likely to b e a plan of his. Unfortunately, Stephanie wasn't sure as to what he had in store, so she just nodded like Claudia did.
