she was tired. her mouth hurt for talking too much. she had talked with many members of the Rodriguez mafia, where most of them hugged her and cried and mia awkwardly hugged them pack patting there back. half of the names mia still didn't know how to pronounce, her cousin scht? Schuster? Schuyler? yes, Schuyler. all of her cousins were men, making her the only girl in her family, some of them were friendly like Yael and few others, but the coldest towards her was cian, he glared at her the whole time, in fact, she could still feel his eyes burning her soul.

"I have a doubt" mia whispers to Enzo. they were now eating dinner in the backyard which was decorated beautifully. she sat at the center of the arranged tables with her 'family'. she couldn't help but feel a bit on edge, mia liked attention on her but not this much, and cian staring at her made her more uneasy. she sat in the middle of Enzo and Scarlett next to Scarlett is Luca, Emma, and archer then an empty seat where Javier sat. "do tell" Enzo said as he cut his steak.

she played with her food nervously, he scared her a bit, to be honest, he could just knock her out with a slap. not that Enzo would raise a hand on her. but how would she know? Enzo hit her hand making her look at him "don't play with your food little one, now tell me" he asks her kindly. she takes a sharp breath "why did you guys come now like you said you wanted me to have a normal life" mia asks him. Enzo swallows his food then looks at her.

"I was a teenager back then princess, I thought you would have a safe and happy life with one of our ex-members but we missed you a lot and I convinced myself that what I was doing was right but a voice in my head always thought mom and dad would be disappointed with me for abandoning you like that, getting your memories erased by ECT and eliminating you from our lives, I regret it, baby. if I have tried harder you would have grown up the way you should have as the princess of the Spanish mafia. but I gave up on you, took the easy route, and I know I'm made a mistake back then this" he pauses gesturing around them "this is your legacy mia, and I had no right to take you away from that, from us so we came back" he whispers in the end but she heard him.

mia nods looking down at her food. "say something" Enzo says softly. "I don't know what to say Enzo, I mean I know you probably have many rivals, will you leave me if things get out of hand?" she asks and he shakes his head furiously "no, no. Dios no. I will not repeat the same mistake twice," (god) he says with guilt evident in his voice. mia opens her mouth but Enzo's laugh makes her frown, she follows his gaze and laughs as she looks at Javier's bruise he walks up to the table with a pout, "you can't handle a girl?" Enzo asks with a smirk. he rolls his eyes "it wasn't my fault" Javier whines and both of the siblings raise an eyebrow, he avoids their gaze. "she is your date, right?" Enzo asks Javier and he shrugs "not anymore" he mumbles. "what did you do?" mia asks and he sends her an offended look "what makes you think I did something?" he asks and they just stare at the blue-eyed sibling.

"I was looking at the blonde," he says gesturing to a familiar blonde girl. where have I seen her? she thinks studying her face. mia frowns "what?" Enzo asks noticing her distress. "I know her, that's Tessa." mia says and Javier nods "yeah, she is the daughter of one of the inner circle member," Enzo says and mia glares at him "she goes to my school," mia says and both nod, looking at each other. "what?" she asks noticing their sudden change of behavior. "she has been hired to protect you," Javier says and Enzo shoots him a glare. "I don't need a fucking babysitter" mia snarls. "language." they both say glaring at her. Enzo sighs rubbing his forehead "it's for your safety, Princessa" Enzo says to her.

mia gives them a tight smile, "am I in danger?" she asks and they stay silent mia sighs loudly earning the attention of everyone at the table. "We have everything under control, mia" Enzo explains to her, "if everything was under control you wouldn't have appointed her to protect me," mia says to them. "bird, you are never safe in this world, you needed to be protected all the times" Archer explains to her. "is it same for everyone?" she asks and Luca shakes his head.

"only the heirs and their family, friends, etc" Javier explains to her"so most of the heirs are either dead right now or nobody knows who the heir is or how they look like except the inner circle," Enzo says. mia frowns "so I'm?" she starts and Javier cuts her off "you died when you were five" she nods. "who are our biggest rivals?" she asks curiously. "that would be the Russo family," archer says glaring into space.

"they had been our rivals since our great-great-grandparents," Emma says and mia tilts her head "why is that?" she asks and Enzo shrugs "honestly we don't know what happened properly but over the years we became crueler to each other" Javier says. "are they royals?" mia says empathizing royals

Luca nods along with everyone. "they are as powerful as the Rodriguez family mia, last I heard there are two heirs, boys. they are the princes of the Russo mafia family, the Italian mafia." Scarlett tells her. "and nobody knows how either of them looks like or if they are alive" Luca adds. she nods taking in the information. "what about you guys?" mia asks them.

Javier smirks "they don't know if the Rodriguez family exists or not but we sent a little birdie to them saying the Rodriguez brothers- the heirs are alive" mia nods "so I will be introduced too? for the rest of the- our mafia?" she corrects herself. mia could see the smiles on everyone's faces when she said 'our' "what?" she asks looking at everyone. "you said ou-" Javier starts but mia cuts him off "ger over it" she snaps and he rolls his eyes. "no, not now it isn't safe" Enzo says and mia frowns "you just said everything was under control" mia says with a frown.

"it's best if you don't know," he says and mia rolls her eyes "so you are hiding things from me now?" she asks and he shakes his head. "no princess, just trust me," he says and mia scoffs "I'm sorry but I don't trust you," mia says crossing her arms. she ignores the hurt look in his eyes and continues. "are you going to tell me?" she asks and he stays silent, she looks at others who stay silent as well. "whatever, I'm going to my room," she says standing up.

Enzo grabs her arm, everyone at the table stares at her. "you can't leave, all the members-" he starts but she cuts him off. "they are just members but we- I am the fucking princess so I will do as I please" she spits and storms off inside.

mia skipped chemistry, she didn't want to face Javier yet. it was weird she missed him when he was 'missing' and now he is back and she is avoiding him. these past months had been so exhausting, she thought as she walked into the washroom. mia couldn't help but notice the differences in her life, if she hadn't met them or if they didn't come back, she would be not angry or the past her would be angry at Luca for eating her brownies or use her lotion. but now she is angry and isn't talking to any of her family because she is in danger and they won't tell her who is out there to hurt her. she is a mafia princess for god sake, back them she was just mia Thompson, a rich kid.

she mentally rolls her eyes as she sees madison apply, nope. reapplying her lipgloss. she ignores her and does her business, she walks out of the stall to see her crossing her arms and standing there. mia washes her hands as madison stares at her "you need something?" mia asks her. a flush sound came from behind her, making mia turn around, Tessa walks out. they briefly held eye contact, then mia looks away. "yes I need you to stay away from nik" madison screeches. mia pouts "no can do, he is the one following me around," mia says wiping her hands. madison rolls her blue eyes "don't lie to me you fatso, are you paying him to be with you, or is it the other way around?" she asks and mia raises her brow "you do know that we are both equally rich? and I'm not paying him and neither is he" mia says throwing the tissue away.

"Okay, I'm done playing good. nik is mine so stay the fuck away from him you whore?" madison said taking a step forward. "or what?" mia challenges her. madison raises her hand but Tessa pulls her back and whispers something in her ear, which makes the redhead nod then smirk at mia. she walks out the bathroom and mia looks at Tessa "what did you tell her?" mia asks and Tessa bites her lip rolling her eyes "to seduce him" she says and mia scoffs, he won't sleep with her. would he? she bows to her and walks out of the room. is the bowing important? mia thought walking out of the washroom.

she aimlessly walked around for a bit, avoiding the teachers, she was bored and she tried to search for the guys who bunk most of the time, and Brooke who bunks a few times. when she didn't find anyone she concluded that they must be in classes.

Her phone pings, she looks at it to see a message from nik.' meet me at the parking lot. now,' so he isn't in class. but madison went to him? and what if he is calling her to 'break their unofficial thing' she rolls her eyes as a new message comes 'i mean it kitten, now'. she sighs and quickly makes her way to the parking lot, she was almost caught by Mr honey but he turned into another hallway. thankfully her school didn't have any cameras after a naked girl incident in the previous year, the cameras were removed. she didn't know what happened exactly but knew the fact that a nude girl was involved. she sees nik, and the twins at his car. "hey" nik greets kissing her cheek. "hey" she replies shyly, her lips were still swollen from all the kisses she shared with him before.

"Hop in," nik says gesturing got his burgundy-colored car. "where are you going?" she asks and nik grins at her "we are going to have some fun," nik says empathizing on 'we'. mia shakes her head "I'm not going anywhere" mia says crossing her arms. he rolls his eyes and picks her up making her yelp. "nik, the fuck put me down, put me down" she says hitting his back. "shush" he growls hitting on her butt. she gasps as she feels the sting on her ass "did you just spank me?" mia asks as he places her on the passenger seat. "yes and I will spank you more if you don't shut your pretty little mouth" nik grins widely at her.

"nik, where are we going?" mia asks as he runs to the driving seat. he smirks at her "and by God, if you say surprise the next thing that will come out of your mouth will be your teeth" mia threatens and the boys laugh. "that was so cute" Jacob says ruffling her hair. she slaps his hand away making him pout at her. he stars the car driving out of school, mia stays silent watching the twins play thumb war. they drove for a few hours where mia made little conversation with the twins and totally avoiding the conversation with nik. nik parks his car as mia looks around the various cars among them, there were girls, boys of all ages from 16 to 30. "what are we doing here?" mia asks getting out of the car. nik smirks at her pulling her closer to him "its a street race, kitten and you are going to be racing with me" nik says.
