Mia.

is her father alive? what about her mother? Enzo? and xavy? were they her brothers? and why did the man hurt her family?. many questions overflowed in her head. she looks around confused, this was not her room. the walls were painted in navy blue and white instead of her gold and white walls of mia's bedroom. there was a gold chandelier above her rather than her glass chandelier. On the left side, there was a study table and a minibar at the corner. mia raises her eyebrow, sure Archer knows she drinks but he would not allow her to have a minibar in her bedroom, but mia had a secret stash of chocolates and pop tarts. she got off the bed the velvety white rug was soft against her bare legs. she walks up to a floor-length mirror and grimaces seeing her tangled hair. her makeup was cleaned meaning someone cleaned her face up, which mia was thankful for.

she looks down, finding herself in yesterday's dress, she gasps relieved that she didn't sleep with anyone. mia was thankful for her genes, she never suffered from hangovers. mia remembered the first time she sipped liquor with her brother Luca. he was annoyed that she didn't get hungover, while he had a massive one. archer grounded both of them for drinking from his cabinet without telling him, mia was 15 at that time. she didn't like the taste of the booze but with the fancy balls and parties she attends, she got used to it.

She hears the shower running and frowns, whose bedroom was she in? and where was nik? she remembered vividly him carrying her to a bedroom. as she recalled yesterday night, mia wanted to crawl under a rock and die!. she stole a pizza box from a couple, called her chemistry teacher xavy? did she call him that because of her dream? the little boy's name was also xavy? and she kissed Nik's jaw and sucked his finger. mia tried to seduce him! what was wrong with her!. lost in thoughts she didn't hear the bathroom door opening. nik walks out a towel lowly wrapped around his waist. showing his v line. mia blinks as nik brushes his hair with another towel. okay, so she was in his room. wait why did he bring her to his room and not a guest room. nik smiles looking at her, mia noticed that she rarely saw nik smile, he always smirks at her "morning kitten" he greets as mia started at his abs and v line.

nik smirks at her "done checking me out kitten?" he says with a grin, she rolls her eyes "as if" she says crossing her arms. nik nods with a chuckle. "you were pretty fun last night" nik says and she becomes red. "sorry for all of that" mia says embarrassed, he raises his eyebrow "you remember everything?" he asks her while walking into his closet. mia rubs her face. mia knew nik if she said she remembered all of her stunts from the former night, he will tease her and if she says she doesn't remember, he will probably taunt her more. fuck it. "yeah I do," mia says as nik comes put of his closet wearing jeans and a white tee. nik smirks walking closer to her, mia steps back and he takes a step forward.

she hits the back of the bed and stumbles, nik catches her. their nose touching. he smelt like fresh mint and chocolate. the wet droplet from his hair falls on her nose and travels to her red lips. nik eyes her lips intensely then gazes at her brown eyes, mia follows him looking up from his soft lips to his green eyes. mia clears her throat and nik helps her stand and looks anywhere but her eyes. "um-ah are you hungry?" he stammers, mia raises her brow the nik she knows doesn't get nervous. her stomach growls answering for her. she becomes red nik chuckles looking at her stomach and now at her eyes "let's get some food in your stomach" he says opening the door. a kitten walks up to nik, purring. he smiles picking the animal up. it looked like a leopard to mia but it was a cat. mia remembered reading about a leopard look-alike cat, what was its name? she thought. yeah ashera!.

nik kisses the kitten head and cradles it in his hands. "is that an Ashera?" mia asks walking closer to nik. he nods with a smile. "kitten, meet luna" nik says giving mia the kitten, mia carefully holds the kitten and awes. "she is so adorable" she gushes running hand on her stomach making the kitten purr and lean into mia. nik clicks his tongue "she likes you" he says taking the kitten back. they walk down to the kitchen and nik places the kitten on the counter. "what do you like to eat?" he asks as a maid walks in "chocolate pancakes?" mia asks and nik looks at the maid "you heard her, I want some spiced maple pancakes, get it ready quickly!" Nik orders and mia frowns as she bows and walks away. she looks at nik who had a nursing bottle filled with milk, he fed the kitten with a gentle smile.

mia smiles at them. she recalls his behavior with the maid "you should be more respectful or should have said thank you" mia says and he glances at her and raises his brow "and why is that kitten?" he asks her, mia smiles at him " Thank you show our gratitude. But more than that, it is a sign of respect to the person who has helped you. It is an indication you do not take them for granted, and an acknowledgment that they matter" she explains, and nik shrugs with a nod. "okay how long, she has been working here?" mia asks and nik bites his lip as luna goes to sleep in his lap.

"When Elijah was born? or before that? who cares" nik says and mia shakes her head. "the staff which your family works for, cooks for you, keeps your house clean from every little sniffle and cough, and are loyal to you," mia says as nik gazes intensely at her "just imagine what would be your life without all these maids and workers" she continues and nik nodes biting his lip. the maid arrives giving a plate of the chocolate pancake to mia and spiced maple pancake." thank you," mia says then looks at nik, who rolls his eyes and looks at the maid "thank you" the maid's eyes widen and she smiles and bows to nik and walks away.

"happy?" nik says as he takes a bite. mia grins cutting her pancake "very" she says taking a bite. the pair eats in comfortable silence. once finished with breakfast, mia fetches her phone which had several missed calls from archer and Luca. she quickly messaged both of them that she will be home soon and she was okay "why do you have a taser?" nik asks as they walk towards the living room, which was getting cleaned by the maids. "Archer and Luca gave it to me for my safety," mia says and he nods walking to the garage, where mia follows him. "black Porsche 911 turbo," nik says and adds "please" mia smiles rolling her eyes.

mia needed answers and the only person who can give her answers was Archer. she walks up to her adoptive father's office. she knocks the door and walks in after hearing a 'come in'. "hey bird" archer greets her from his desk, mia keeps a blank face and takes a seat next to Luca who was occupied in his phone. archer frowns not seeing the usual bright smile from mia. "is something wrong?" he asks and Luca looks up from his phone." why did you lie about my family archer" mia asks him, archer's eyes widen along with Luca, he gapes at her. "bir-rd.....wh-hat ar-re y-you sayi-n-ng" he stammers and she doesn't break her eye contact, "you know exactly what I'm saying" she snaps at him. "wa..it how-..how did you know?" Luca asks, she glances at him "I- I am having these dreams, where I get tortured by some guy and there is a family with me, I call him dad at first I thought it was just my brain messing with me but I had a doubt" mia says then looks at the shocked faces which also held guilt, confirming that they lied to her.

she chuckles sarcastically "so you have been lying to me," mia says in disbelief. archer shakes his head"no mia it's not-" he gets cut off by mia "so you didn't lie to me?" she asks him and Archer shakes his head again" N-no no I mean yes but-t mia" he stammers looking at glaring mia.

"it's for your safety bird....that's why we have been lying to you" archer explains to her and mia rolls her eyes. "where is my family archer" mia demands him. "your father he...um..his name was Alejandro and your mother's name was Lucia," he says and mia takes an audible breath, the man in her dreams is her father, she didn't know how to react to it. mia nods slowly taking in the information. "I have brothers right?" she asks him and Luca nods next to her "yes, you have two older brothers Javier and Lorenzo," he says and mia nods then frown looking at Luca then at archer frantically "wait? have?! they are alive?" mia asks in a shocked tone, archer nods slowly to her. "yes bird, they are alive" he answers her. did they not want her? that must be the reason she got adopted by Archer right?. her own family didn't want her! and why did that man torture her? and her family?.

"b-but why didn't they gave me up?" mia asks at the brink of tears, Luca puts a comforting hand on her shoulder and mia leans into the comfort. "your father was a very powerful man bird, he was the leader of the Spanish mafia and he had many rivals, the dream you had was where his rival kidnapped you and your family, and your family still has many enemies, so to keep you safe, your brothers gave you to me, I was your father's, right-hand man" archer explains to her. "ma-afia?" she stammers, mafia? her father was the leader or a mafia boss? and he is a criminal? what the hell, this can't be possible, this has to be a dream. mia pinches herself. this isn't a dream, this is reality, she was the daughter of a mafia boss. "yes mia your father was the leader of the Spanish mafia, right now your older brother Lorenzo is the current leader of the Spanish mafia" he says and mia nods holding her head. "you are not mia Alexandria Thompson, you are Emelia Renia Isadora Rodrigez the princess of Spanish mafia".
