Of course, Ivy had to dodge Nathan. She was pregnant now, and during the early stages of pregnancy, she couldn't sleep with him.
To be honest, she hadn't even thought about intimacy yet. Before, as long as she didn't take the initiative, Nathan wouldn't either.
She hadn't expected him to suddenly want to shower together tonight.
Ivy still hadn't figured out how to tell him about the pregnancy, so she could only turn him down gently. "I just got home. I want to take a shower first."
Nathan looked at her fresh, makeup-free face. His hand tightened as he pulled her closer. "You don't want to shower with me? Have you forgotten how you used to cling to me? Or are you playing hard to get now?"
Ivy was instantly speechless. Heaven knew she was absolutely not playing hard to get.
"I'm not," she said quickly, afraid he would start suspecting something. Her hand rested on his silk pajamas. "People say couples need to keep a little distance sometimes, or things lose their spark. If I shower with you all the time, I'm afraid you'll get tired of me too fast."
Nathan really did enjoy her sweet talk. He curved his lips. "With all the tricks you pull at night, do you really think I'd get tired of you?"
Ivy's face flushed. Now that she was pregnant, she needed to behave herself. Everything from before was officially in the past.
"My stomach has been acting weird today," Ivy said.
Nathan paused, his expression turning serious. "What's wrong with your stomach? Have you seen a doctor?"
"My period is about to come. I feel a little uncomfortable, so let's not do it tonight," Ivy replied.
Nathan immediately loosened his hold on her. "Alright, I get it. Go take your shower."
"Okay," Ivy said.
She walked into the bathroom.
