The Heartbreak Prescription (by Glazed Snow) novel Chapter 1194

Edric kept his eyes closed, his brow furrowed. He looked completely worn out.

"Enough," he said hoarsely. "I was wrong today. You gave me that cropped photo and pushed me into confronting them at the birthday party. I ended up humiliating the entire family. My dad had every right to rip into me."

That was all it took for Noelle to snap. She spun toward him and glared, finally losing her composure.

"I pushed you? Edric, are you blaming me now? Who was the one making promises all these years?

"You told me Tabitha was controlling and miserable to live with. You said the Quinn family money, the shares, the properties, everything would eventually belong to Kate.

"You told me you'd marry me and make sure Kate was finally recognized as part of the family!

"You kept stringing me along, making me believe all of that while I stayed hidden in the background for more than ten years. Now that everything's fallen apart, you're going to blame me for causing trouble and act like none of this has anything to do with you?"

The more Noelle said, the angrier she became. Her eyes reddened with resentment.

Kate immediately jumped in. "Dad, why does Ivy get everything?

"She grew up with every advantage the Quinn family could give her. Grandpa adores her, her mother always protects her, and now she's married to someone as powerful as Nathan!

"You saw what Nathan did for her tonight. He treated her like she was the only person in the room. He gave an insanely expensive gift, defended her in front of everyone, and even threatened to take legal action against anyone who tried to hurt her!

"And what about Mom and me? We've spent our whole lives hiding, like we're something to be ashamed of! We've never even been allowed to live openly!

"This is so unfair, Dad! Ivy never had to fight for any of this. She was born into it. Mom and I have been fighting for years, and we still don't even have a real place in this family.

"Everyone was already treating Ivy like she was the center of the universe tonight. You didn't stand up for us, and now you're blaming us, too. Do you have any idea how much that hurts?"

Normally, Edric would've tried to calm them down by now.
