Ivy had never seen anything like this before. She stared at the screen in shock. "Nathan, what kind of movie is this supposed to be?"
Nathan was a little speechless. He really had told Baxter to pick a romance, but clearly, Baxter had gotten creative and chosen something like this instead.
"This has nothing to do with me!" Nathan said. "Baxter booked it!"
Ivy shot him a look. "Yeah, right. Like I'd believe that."
Nathan felt like there was no way to get out of this one. He hurriedly explained again, "I swear, I didn't pick this!"
Ivy kept watching the screen. "Why are you so nervous? I didn't even blame you. Let's just watch it together."
Ivy's eyes were fixed on the movie, bright and curious, like she was watching it for the first time. Seeing her this way, Nathan felt that she looked even more innocent and pure.
"What's the male lead's name?" Ivy asked.
Nathan replied, "No idea. Why do you care?"
Ivy said casually, "Just wondering. He's pretty good-looking."
Nathan's gaze darkened. He wrapped an arm around Ivy's soft waist and pulled her into his arms. "You really think he's handsome?"
Ivy nodded. "Yeah. Don't you think so?"
Nathan said, "I think he looks average. Are you saying he's better-looking than me?"
Only then did Ivy realize the jealousy in his tone. Was he seriously competing with a movie actor?
She curved her lips into a smile and said sweetly, "Of course not. He can't even compare to you. You're way more handsome."
Seeing her sparkling eyes, Nathan lowered his head and kissed her.
Ivy hadn't expected him to kiss her there. Just last night, he had firmly refused to touch her.
It turned out that pleasing a man wasn't that hard. As long as you were willing to spend a little time saying sweet things, you would completely win him over.
She placed her hands on his chest and pushed him away. "Nathan, we're in a movie theater!"
She kissed him.
Nathan tightened his arm around her soft waist and kissed her back.
-
In the end, they never finished the movie. Ivy was carried back to the car, scooped up horizontally in Nathan's arms, and placed into a luxury sedan.
She hadn't wanted him to carry her because anyone could tell what had happened, but Nathan had made a call and cleared the place out.
So she ended up being carried straight into the car.
Ivy sank into the soft passenger seat, completely drained, exhausted from head to toe.
Nathan leaned over and fastened her seat belt for her. He chuckled. "Are you really that tired?"
Ivy shot him a coy glare. "You got what you wanted, and now you're playing dumb, huh?"
