I couldn't stop myself from grabbing the doctor's wrist with joy. "You're telling me she's pregnant?"

It was unbelievable. I found myself looking around for Mom. When I saw her, her eyes were filled with tears as she nodded at me with a hand covering her mouth.

She said, "You heard right. Lorraine… Lorraine really is pregnant."

I froze on the spot. Lorraine was pregnant? I was going to be a father again?

Even if it was not my first time, the joy did not diminish one bit.

This child of ours didn't come easy. We might have lost the baby if Lorraine's body hadn't been strong enough.

"That's amazing. It's absolutely amazing!" I exclaimed.

I tried to rush toward the hospital room, but the doctor and nurses stopped me.

"Alright, alright, we understand you're excited, but the patient needs to rest right now. You'll only disturb her if you go in," the doctor said.

"Can't I just take a quick look?" I pleaded.

"No." The nurse firmly rejected me before shoving me out.

No one had ever dared to push me out before, but I just felt incredibly happy at that moment.

"Mom, did you hear that? I'm going to be a dad! I'm going to be a dad!" I said excitedly.

"That's wonderful. I never expected Lorraine to be pregnant," she replied.

Mom seemed even happier than I was. "Jonas, you're going to be a big brother. Are you happy?"

"Big brother?" Jonas murmured in a daze. He didn't seem very happy.

"What's wrong? Aren't you happy? Ms. Sommerton might give you a little brother or sister," she said.

Mom was still unaware of Jonas' situation, so I tried to stop her and calm her down. I was worried that she might upset Jonas.

Yvonne was puzzled. She never expected Xavier to care about Jonas.

"Mommy, Daddy won't treat us well anymore if he has a new baby. Can you take Jonas with you too?" Xavier asked.

Even though Xavier didn't particularly like Jonas, he didn't want to see Jonas being mistreated either.

Xavier's mind was filled with thoughts of Jonas being mistreated. Before Yvonne could say anything, he walked toward Jonas. "You heard what they said just now."

Mom looked at Xavier in confusion. "What's wrong, Xavier?"

"He has a new baby now. He won't care about us anymore," Xavier said.

Jonas looked at Xavier earnestly.

Xavier continued, "Why don't you come with me? You can become a celebrity too. I'll make sure Mommy gives you some work as well."

Jonas was a bit surprised. Was Xavier worried about him?
