Even if it was just a call, did he have to say it so harshly?
He disliked Lorenzo to the point of having hatred in his heart. However, he was good at hiding it. He smiled in response and called Matthew again.
Beep… Beep… Beep…
The phone's tone echoed continuously through the receiver.
Cameron noticed Lorenzo's impatient expression. He was even more restless now.
He silently pleaded in his heart, "Pick up the phone, Grant! Even if you're rushing here, it doesn't matter how busy you are, just pick up!"
Within the courtyard, Matthew was still chatting with Lorraine. "Come on! I'll just keep playing with you today. It doesn't matter who's calling, I won't pick up the phone. My daughter is the most important person of all."
Lorraine spoke as if she was an adult. "Dad, if you don't pick up someone's call, it's like not greeting them when they greet you! That's disrespectful. Dad, you need to be a polite, hygienic, and civilized father."
Upon seeing his daughter's adorable expression as she spoke, he hugged her happily. He kissed her on her round cheek and said, "Good girl."
Lorraine pulled away and wiped the saliva off her cheek. She pouted and said, "Dad! I'm telling you something serious! Did you hear me?"
Matthew didn't want to bother with them. But, for the sake of his daughter, he chuckled and said, "Alright. I'll pick up the phone."
He took his phone out and answered the call. He walked outside and put his hand to his mouth. "What's the matter with you? Why are you calling me non-stop?"
Cameron immediately asked upon hearing Matthew's voice, "Where are yoU?"
Matthew chuckled. "Sorry. The traffic jam is really bad. I think you'll need to wait 15 more minutes!"
What? Cameron was startled. Over on his side, Lorenzo was pressing him as if it was a matter of life and death.
Still, his expression was apologetic. He smiled and said, "He already said he's in a jam. Just wait another 15 minutes."
Lorenzo said coldly, "Cameron, your time is worthless, but I'm different from you. I can't afford to waste my time like this. Use that stupid brain of yours and figure something out!"
The day was coming to an end. It would be night soon. From across the river, one could see that Lambda City was still lit up. Right now, Delisnora Bay was already fading into the darkness.
Cameron gritted his teeth after being chewed out by Lorenzo.
Matthew was in a traffic jam, and he had already made the call. What could he do now that Matthew couldn't get there in time?
After staying silent for some time, he suppressed the anger within his heart. He tried his best to say calmly, "He's in a traffic jam. I really can't do anything about this."
Lorenzo got up violently and flung the half-filled cup of coffee toward Cameron's face.
