Seeing the look of confidence on Jason's face, Frank really thought he could settle the matter and therefore did not pay it much mind.
He certainly did not expect to be told the next afternoon that Jason had been rushed to the hospital after getting involved in a car accident!
Knowing that things were more than what they seemed, Frank rushed to the hospital, though Jason's operation was over by then.
He had already been moved to the VIP ward, where disinfectant was applied.
"Sup, brother!"
Jason greeted Frank, but he appeared worse for wear as he was bandaged from head to toe, scarred in the face and with one plastered leg hanging in the air.
"Everyone, out," Frank said, sending the bodyguards away and bringing over a stool to sit beside Jason. "Be honest. Who did this?"
Knowing that he could not hide it from Frank, Jason admitted, "They never said anything, but it was most definitely Pax Jaric. But just listen to me for a second—don't go looking for revenge. Unlike in the boonies, the fist isn't all that useful in the big city.
"Just lie low for a while. Now that Pax has regained some dignity, he would most definitely let it slide soon enough."
Frank was left laughing in amusement.
In reality, the fist worked, and it was especially effective against those stubborn pricks with too much money in their hands.
However, going too far would also quickly expose him, so he had to switch strategies…
"Well, since we're now mortal enemies with the Jarics, we need a solution. I'm sure they aren't the only bigshot family in town?"
Jason thought about it and replied, "There's the Ingrams too. They've been a nuclear family for three generations, and Donnie Ingram, the current family head, only has a daughter around the same age as yourself. Why don't you try wooing her and becoming a househusband?"
"Quit it already!" Frank chuckled at Jason's silly suggestion.
"Hahaha!" Jason laughed cheerfully. "Well, it's not like Donnie would just agree to it even if you're interested. But his daughter has recently been taken ill from a mysterious illness and has fallen into a vegetative state since—Donnie himself has been traveling everywhere in search of a cure."
"A mysterious illness, you say?"
"Hello, Mr. Ingram," he said as Donnie answered. "My name is Jason Chand. Would you happen to remember me?"
There was silence before Donnie soon answered, "If I remember correctly, you're the head of that security firm?"
"Yes, you're right!" Jason chuckled. "Actually, I called to tell you I recently made the acquaintance of a miracle worker, and I was thinking about introducing him to you…"
Donnie only had one daughter, and he had long since resorted to desperate measures.
As such, he did not even ask for details as he quickly pressed Jason, "That sounds wonderful! When can we meet?"
"I can't meet you right now," Jason said, "but why don't I send the healer over to your mansion? Would that be alright?"
"Then, I'll be looking forward to it!" Donnie exclaimed in delight. "I'll reward you handsomely if it's a success!"
After that, Jason had a brief exchange with Donnie before hanging up, and he turned to Frank eagerly. "Brother, just listen to me on this—it doesn't matter if you can actually help Mr. Ingram's daughter, but just don't end up killing her. There's nothing even I can do if that happens!"
