Celine quickly responded, "Hailey, I'm at your house. What's going on?"
"Celine, this is urgent! I just saw Carly at Freeman Restaurant!"
The moment Celine saw "Carly" on her screen, her fingers froze. Her thoughts immediately turned to Adam.
Before she could even reply, Hailey's next message popped up. "Celine, Carly said Adam invited her to Freeman Restaurant for dinner!"
Celine's heart skipped a beat. Adam invited Carly to dinner?
Just yesterday, Adam had asked her to go to the city hall to register their marriage, yet today, he was dining at Freeman Restaurant with Carly. What was he trying to do?
"Celine, are you listening? What do you think Adam is up to? If he actually goes through with this dinner, I swear I'll cut him off. I can't have someone like him as my cousin."
Celine could feel the anger in Hailey's words. "Hailey, just go ahead and eat for now."
With that, Celine put down her phone, her mind racing with thoughts of Adam. She, too, was baffled by his intentions.

At Freeman Restaurant, Carly had already finished three cups of coffee. The waiter approached and politely asked, "Ms. Carly, would you like another cup of coffee?"
Carly's irritation deepened as she shot a sharp glare at the waiter. "What do you mean by that? You think Mr. Alvarez isn't coming, don't you?"
The waiter started to sweat nervously, quickly backpedaling. "Ms. Carly, I didn't mean it like that."
Carly's patience was already wearing thin, and she snapped, "Oh really? Because that's exactly what it sounds like to me!"
"Alright, Carly!" Hailey interjected with a mocking smile. "Don't make it harder for the waiter. He didn't say anything wrong. If you're so confident, why don't you just call Adam and have him come here right now?"
Carly gritted her teeth. Adam had promised her the night before that he'd meet her. With the Heartstring Venom binding him, there was no way he could stay away from her. She refused to believe he wouldn't show up.
"Fine, Hailey. Watch carefully. I'll call Adam right now and bring him here!" Carly declared.

this is so annoying. the happy moments of celine and adam are way too shorter than their problems. this is the kind of story that will make the readers lose their interest. to the author, you are so disappointing. i hope you can give the story the justice it deserves....
