The Blue-eyed Wolf In The Woods novel Chapter 50

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, girl talk!" I said with a smile.

"Fine. But can I drive you home?" He asked.

"Umm... No, I have my Jeep here. I you know, drive to school too."

Dom looked at me blankly like he was drowning for answers, floundering for the right thing to say.

"How about coffee? We could meet at Java Jones and do some homework and get some dessert or coffee?" He finally asked. "Just us. Like a date." He added quickly, before I could even think of including my friends to save me from this situation.

"I don't know, I've got a lot of work to do, and I gotta practice for the Orchestra concert coming up."

"Come on, just an hour of your time, that's all I'm asking." He leaned in closer and rested his head of messy hair against my locker door.

He looked me right in the eyes, showing off his golden brown ones.

He really was something to look at.

Maybe I could draw him sometime. I needed to find new inspiration and he sure was pretty.

Pretty in a way that most guys dreamed of being, and most girls longed to be with.

He had perfectly tanned skin year round, probably from all the special vacations him and his family went on. He had lighter colored freckles that covered the bridge of his nose and tops of his cheeks. His teeth were lined perfect and sparkled a pearly white. His hair was always messy like he just rolled out of bed, but he probably gelled it that way. It sparkled in the Sun with highlights of gold, brown and red.

He embodied the warmth and brightness of Sunshine, but there was something darker, and maybe evil hiding deep underneath the surface, something that scared me.

He was the opposite of Travis.

Travis was the embodiment of the Moon. He was darkness, the absence of light and gold. He was hard edges and angles.

He was Black and Silver with a touch of Blue. He was the coldness of the Night, the wind blowing through the pines in Winter. He was everything Dom was not.

He was everything that's always been there for me.

I've never been comforted by the Sun.

Only by the light of the Moon. Because Travis has been there.

Only by the cold hard, unforgiving Earth, Because my wolf has come to my rescue.

I just stood there staring off at him like I had seen a ghost.

What was I going to do?

I was brought out of my reverie by Belle slamming my locker door.

"Come on, time to spill the rest of your story. Where were you, You built a big fire and waited..." Belle started.

"So I was waiting for him to warm up. I honestly didn't know what to expect. But all of a sudden he started shaking and the air around him was getting all shimmery and wavy. I could hear bones snapping and re-shaping. It was kind of scary. But then I was sitting next to a boy. A man, really. A drop dead gorgeous man. It was Travis, my wolf. A real, human man."

"Wow!!" Belle exclaimed. She looked at me with wide eyes. "Holy shit. That's crazy. A real guy, who was a wolf. This is the kind of shit you hear in fairytales and read in fiction novels!" She said.

"Of course you would know all about those." I teased.

She shiver my arm in a defensive gesture but went on to ask, "So, what did he look like? You said he was drop dead gorgeous."

"He was. He is. He looks like how you would picture him to look like once you've seen his wolf. He has dark black hair, all messy like he just rolled out of bed, but in reality it was probably because he just shifted from a wolf to a human. His eyes were just as bright and blue as they are when he's a wolf. They stick out and are his most prominent asset because everything else is so dark. He had black stubble littering his sharp angled features. His jaw line was chiseled and he had a straight lined nose. His skin was light. Like he rarely saw the sun. It was luminous like the moon. He had this shine to him that was otherworldly. But he was still beautiful and mysterious, and ever so obviously my wolf."
