Everyone knew Jupiter's daughter had married a wild man no one could tame.
Surprisingly, Milka was the only one who could keep Mars in line.
Milka bought some drinks, vegetables, and fresh coffee beans, bringing them back home.
In no time at all, Abby had already whipped up two dishes. Seeing the extra groceries, she asked, "Why did you buy more food? And all these coffee beans?"
"I'm going to brew some fresh coffee tomorrow morning. It's been a while, and Mars mentioned wanting some last night," Milka replied.
As Abby expected, the chess game had finally ended.
In the living room, everyone laughed as they analyzed the board with Jupiter. "I didn't see that coming! Mars, your flank strategy is incredible. You broke up the main force just with that coordinated flank attack, saved your own pieces, and completely won. Jupiter, there's no shame in losing to that!"
Gavin chimed in, "I told you Mars had more tricks up his sleeve. See? I was right. A rough start doesn't mean you can't turn the tables."
Abby called everyone into the dining room so they could chat over the meal.
Jupiter had lost, but he wasn't mad. He was proud because the winner was his son-in-law, and more importantly, a young man with real talent.
While everyone ate, Milka and her mother walked over to study the chessboard. "Mom, can you make any sense of this?"
"It's harder to read than a foreign language," Abby admitted.
By the time dinner wrapped up, it was already eleven. The young couple decided not to leave and stayed over at Jupiter's place. Before heading to bed, Abby prepared the coffee maker for the next morning.
Mars had just finished his shower and was getting ready for bed when his phone started buzzing relentlessly. He thought an emergency mission had just been called in the middle of the night.
He picked it up and saw the pinned group chat with his four best friends: 6,dhuo,99.
A moment later, another message popped up: ,mo...
Then came an emoji, followed by several more speech bubbles in rapid succession.
And every single one of those cryptic messages had been sent from Andre's phone.
