Andre stared intensely at the top of his wife's head. "Thank God I didn't have to bring him in to 'report' today."
Mia looked up at him, her bright eyes wide and innocent. She bit her lip and stood close to him, looking like the picture of perfect obedience. She clung to his arm and refused to let go.
Anya had also finished signing her paperwork. Facing Andre's intimidating aura, she shrank back nervously, keeping her head down and not knowing what to do with her hands.
Leo practically skidded to a halt as he ran inside. "Anya? Anya!"
As soon as he walked through the doors, he spotted the cold, commanding man in the tailored suit. "Uncle?"
Leo glanced to the side and saw Mia putting on her best innocent act. He instantly dropped his worried boyfriend facade. "Damn it, you really are here."
Andre turned slightly and shot his nephew a warning look. Leo immediately watched his language. Seeing Anya standing there with her head bowed, he hurried over and grabbed her hand. "What happened? I stop visiting the police station, and now my family is picking up the slack? Do we have a subscription here or something? My membership expired, so you guys had to renew it?"
Anya pouted and leaned into him. "Leo, it just happened."
Henry, still in Easton's arms, spotted his older cousin and shouted, "Leo!"
Leo looked over, genuinely shocked. "Sweetie, you're involved in this too?!"
Henry shook his head vigorously, waving his little hands. "No, I wasn't!"
In his adorable, childish voice, he declared, "I was busy making trouble in Daddy's office!"
See? He and his mother knew how to divide and conquer. They never caused trouble in the same place at the same time.
Janice and Lester were still at the hospital. Andre turned to Easton. "Is my wife cleared? If so, I'll be taking her home for some 're-education'."
