Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1658

Less than five minutes after Henry left, Mia’s voice echoed through the yard again: “You little troublemaker! I bought you that shuttlecock to kick, not to pluck the feathers out!”

Henry, still sulking, shot back, “Hey! Grandma, I told you already—I’m not a little bunny, I’m a tiger cub!”

Mia was even more annoyed. “I don’t care what kind of cub you are. Get over here and take your punishment.”

By the window, Andre glanced at his son and took a calm sip of his herbal tea. Peace and quiet were pretty much a myth in this house.

Weekends were supposed to be for resting, but Milka barely got to enjoy hers. She was still half-asleep when her phone buzzed. “Come on, let’s go to Newtown and visit Lizzy,” came the voice on the other end.

Milka grumbled, “I’m so tired.”

“I’ll fly. You can nap on the way.”

But the moment she got on the plane, sleep was the last thing on her mind. All she wanted was to press her face to the window and watch the world roll by beneath her.

Mars was at the controls, glancing over with a smile. “Remember when I first joined the squad? I used to call you at night and promise to take you flying one day. Looks like I finally kept that promise.”

Back then, Milka was seventeen, buried in college entrance exams and stress. Mars was two years older, just starting out in the squad, and the rules for newbies were strict—no phones allowed. Still, Mars always found a way to call her.

Everyone at the base—from the officers to the admin staff—knew there was a new recruit hopelessly smitten, never able to go a day without talking to his girlfriend.

Even Jupiter got wind of it. Mars once managed to get hold of a phone, only to realize it belonged to Jupiter himself. “Reporting, sir!”

Jupiter looked up, surprised. “Mars, what are you doing here?”

Back then, Mars was all youthful energy and grins. “Uncle, can I borrow your phone for a minute? I want to call your daughter.”

Jupiter rolled his eyes. “You brat, twenty laps around the track—now.”

He already knew about the puppy love between Mars and his daughter, but never thought the kid would be so bold as to borrow his phone. Annoyed, he handed out punishment on the spot.

“Yes, sir!” Mars replied cheerfully.

Jupiter snorted, “He’s off in the mountains somewhere.”

Whenever Mars called Milka, he’d paint these beautiful pictures of the future—something for her to look forward to, something to keep her motivated.

And every time Mars made a promise, he worked his heart out to make it come true.

“One day, I’ll stay on at the base too. We’ll get a place, set up a home, and raise a kid right here.”

He was determined.

“Milka, let’s get married when you graduate.”

He started saving up, carefully planning how many tables they’d need for the wedding, what kind of celebration to have. He even called Andre. “Andre, you’d better be ready to lend me some money for the big day.”

When Milka was feeling the pressure of her exams, Mars would call to help her unwind. “Don’t stare at your textbooks all day. Go out, try on some rings. If you find one you like, when I’m back, we’ll go buy it together.”
