Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1604

Anya was finally back, so he didn’t have to face those lonely, sleepless nights anymore.

The city was wrapped in darkness, and the couple, reunited after so long, spent the whole night lying awake together…

Mia was back at school, and her days were packed. It felt like she was living in the library—when she wasn’t in class, she was buried in books. Everyone was cramming for the bar exam, so she just threw herself into studying, too, barely stopping to catch her breath.

Andre would watch her come home, still reciting legal codes under her breath. “Mia, why don’t you take it easy for a couple of years before worrying about the bar? You’re barely making time to enjoy yourself these days.”

Mia blinked at him. “Babe, don’t you want me to pass the bar?”

Andre laughed. “Of course I do, but I don’t want you to run yourself ragged. Most people are in a rush because they need that license to find a job and get their lives sorted. But you’re not under that kind of pressure. Go hang out with your friends, travel, enjoy college—you’ve got time.”

With her husband saying that, Mia honestly felt tempted to just slack off.

That night, she ditched her books and called her girlfriends, repeating Andre’s words.

Molly sighed dramatically, “Next life, I’m cutting in line and marrying Andre before you do.”

Mia grinned. “Even if you beat me to him, he’d still say he only loves me.”

Not long after, over at the Byrne house, Officer Chad came home from work.

Molly put her phone on speaker. “Mia, tell Chad what Andre said to you. Chad, listen up.”

Mia repeated the story, and Chad heard every detail. “Wait, what did Molly just say?” he asked.

Mrs. Cedillo, ever the loyal friend, answered exactly: “Molly said that in her next life, she’s marrying Andre before Mia does.”

Molly groaned. “Did you have to be that literal?”

Officer Chad glanced over at his wife, cocooned under the covers, and swallowed. “Got it,” he muttered.

A little while later, Jade hung up the video chat.

Mia pouted, looking every bit as sulky as her son.

Wayne, following his brother’s lead, started calling Hansen “Grandpa,” too.

Hansen dreamed of sneaking out every day. Even his buddies started calling the house looking for him. Hansen grumbled into the phone, “No time! I’m basically running a preschool over here!”

Harry, on the other end, was just confused. “Wait, what?”

Then, one sunny day in March, Mia spotted Anya in the campus library. “Anya, when did you get here?”

Anya was working on a thesis. Mia recognized her niece’s silhouette from across the room and wandered over to check. Sure enough, it was her.

Anya’s face lit up. “Aunt Mia, you come to the library, too?”

Mia grinned. “What, you think your aunt doesn’t like to study?”

She plopped down next to her niece, cracking open her own book, ready to dive in.
