Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1551

Andre replied, “His decisions are his own—they have nothing to do with me. But his safety? That affects my whole family. That’s my business.”

In other words, Cooper’s ties to the royal family and whatever choices he made were none of Andre’s concern. But if someone threatened his brother-in-law’s safety, that was a different story.

Half an hour later, Andre was guided by staff to where his precious son was waiting.

Even before he got there, he could hear Henry’s wailing; not even the noise from the shooting range could distract the little guy.

“Henry!” Andre called.

Henry’s head whipped around. “Daddy!” he shouted, reaching out with both arms, eager to be scooped up.

As soon as Andre got close, Henry launched himself into his father’s arms.

He clung tightly around Andre’s neck, his chubby cheek pressed against his dad’s face, still sniffling as he whined, “Daddy, I missed you so much.”

“You left yesterday like you didn’t have a care in the world,” Andre teased.

“That was yesterday,” Henry mumbled, then planted a big, wet kiss on his dad’s cheek, trying his best to win him over.

Andre, completely used to this kind of affection, glanced at Kristen—who was standing with his brother-in-law—and offered his thanks again. “Kristen, thank you for showing up when you did yesterday and saving my son.”

“No need to thank me, Andre. Whatever’s going on between you all isn’t my business. I just wanted to make sure nobody hurt sweetie,” Kristen said.

Andre looked at his brother-in-law. “You coming with me, or heading back on your own?”

“I’ll come with you for now.”

Kristen hurried over. “Sweetie, you’re leaving already?”

Henry waved his little hand. “Bye, Kristen!”

“Hey! Not Kristen! Kid, you better knock that off,” Cooper called after his nephew. “Your uncle’s still single, you know.”

Once the driver and bodyguards stepped out, it was just the two men and the little tiger cub in the back seat. “Alright, spill,” Andre said.

“Don’t tell my sister,” Cooper pleaded.

“I won’t, but she’s going to ask why Henry kept calling you ‘Kristen.’ If your story doesn’t add up, she’ll see right through it.”

Cooper groaned. He knew he was in for it when he got home. Andre could see he was torn. “So, how did you meet Owen?”

“We were both studying overseas at the same university. Five years ago, he was the one who approached me first. I didn’t know he was a prince back then—you and my sister weren’t married yet. He wanted to recruit talent, to have someone useful for the future.” Cooper was sharp, and Owen admired his skills, trying to win him over from the start.

The sudden attention made Cooper uneasy, so he did some digging on his own. “That’s when I found out he was a prince.”

Once he knew, Cooper kept his distance. Owen never understood why.

“So what happened after that? Why did you two get close again?” Andre asked, his arms around his little boy.
