Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1521

The vehicle slipped into a deep dip in the road, the trees all around thick enough to block any prying eyes. The lead man spotted a security camera glinting not too far away. “Everyone out—get inside and stay low,” he ordered.

In a heartbeat, the whole crew ditched the cars and vanished into the shelter of the woods.

Quinn, bringing up the rear, flicked his comm to broadcast his location, then ducked into the thick undergrowth as well.

By the time the Dark Web team rolled up, the place was empty—their prey already swallowed by the forest.

Meanwhile, in the basement of Mr. Nettleton’s estate, a single dot blinked to life on the tracking screen. Conner stood in the half-dark, both hands gripping the back of a chair, saying nothing. His bodyguards, the same guys who always joked around and gave him a hard time, now watched the screen in tense silence. The light on the map tightened everyone’s nerves.

They all knew who they were up against—the Dark Web.

Stepping onto enemy turf was as good as walking into your own grave.

One wrong move, and any one of them could be gone for good.

Living on the edge was nothing new, but risking their brothers’ lives—that was another story.

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out in the forest, ripping through the quiet. Instantly, chaos broke loose.

Another team of vehicles was already tearing toward the abandoned cars.

“Find cover and flush out anyone hiding!” someone barked.

Maja watched the others scatter, her brow furrowed. “What’s Conner playing at?” she muttered.

Nothing about this made sense. The Dark Web was after her—if she just gave herself up, Conner’s men wouldn’t be in danger. But here they all were, following her straight into the trap. Even if they stuck by her side, the odds of making it out alive were slim. Still, Conner had sent his men in with her anyway.

“Is this all for show? You guys tagging along just so Conner can say he kept his word and helped me?” she demanded.

“Save it,” one of the men shot back, clearly annoyed. “If you could read the boss’s mind, he wouldn’t be the boss.”

Maja clenched her jaw and melted into the shadows, doing her best to stay out of sight.

As the searchers drew closer, a sharp whistle sliced through the air. In an instant, a dozen men sprang up from the forest floor, not a scratch on them, and launched themselves straight at the Dark Web operatives.

Even with snipers hidden in the trees, the enemy couldn’t land a shot—the chaos was too thick.

Gunfire erupted, echoing through the woods—no one could say who fired first.

“Alright, boys,” someone called out, “the boss said it himself—we’re no angels, but the Dark Web are worse. Bad guys taking out other bad guys—every one we drop, that’s a little good karma for us.”

Maja blinked. She’d never heard anything like it—bad guys racking up virtue by wiping out worse guys.

“See? That’s what all that book learning does—the boss always makes sense,” someone joked, even in the middle of the fight.

The Dark Web’s leader was fuming, desperate to bring someone down. Quinn shouted over the noise, “Martin, you think the boss has a point?”

Martin, quick as lightning, slipped a small device onto a Dark Web assassin as he grappled with him. “Boss is always right. We listen. We follow through.”
