The legendary doctor missed Oliver a lot.
Before he returned, he would get on a video call with his disciple, Dr. Carden, multiple times a day to look at Oliver.
Dr. Carden was annoyed and said she could let him raise Oliver in the mountains. He was experienced in raising children anyway.
After all, Dr. Carden was brought up by the legendary doctor himself.
However, Tim refused to let him take Oliver away. Although Oliver was a crybaby and often caused Tim headaches from his crying, Tim still loved Oliver deeply. He said the place where Laurence and the legendary doctor lived was too cold and that the young Oliver could not stand such harsh weather.
Tim was right. The legendary doctor’s home was far from civilization. It was cold in spring, fall, and winter. The weather would only turn slightly warm during summer. Now that it was still snowing, Laurence was forced to clear the snow in the garden every day after waking up.
He would train while clearing the snow. Indeed, Oliver could not adapt to such harsh conditions.
Laurence thought his days were tough. He did not want Oliver to go through the same life he did.
Laurence could only withstand the cold because he trained and worked out a lot every day.
It was not easy.
He felt he had the toughest life out of his peers.
Laurence envied Sonny.
Although Sonny’s parents were divorced, his aunt and uncle loved him. He grew up showered in love.
Laurence knew that his adoptive family loved him too. His teachers and their friends adored him as well. However, his biological parents were gone.
Due to his lifestyle and the coaches around him who taught him a lot, he knew that his biological family had been wiped out despite his young age. His nanny barely escaped with him.
Nevertheless, his nanny still lost her life to protect him.
When Jane found him, he could not even speak properly.
Children grew up quickly and changed into new clothes almost every year.
Laurence, in particular, trained every day and got hungry easily. As a result, he had a big appetite and grew quickly from eating a lot.
Despite being similar in age to Sonny, he was almost a head taller than Sonny.
He was the tallest among his peers as well.
“Thanks, Mommy Jane.”
Laurence was delighted. “I have to prepare a present for Sonny. Can we go and buy a present when we go shopping tomorrow? I’ll pay for it myself. I have money.”
The legendary doctor would give him a monthly allowance and his coaches would give him pocket money whenever they visited, worried that he did not have enough.
The legendary doctor never kept the money for Laurence. Instead, he wanted Laurence to manage his money by himself.
