On the way to the Italian restaurant, Serenity got a call from Jane.
She heard Connor's voice the moment she picked up the call.
“What’s Connor doing, Jane?” Serenity asked amid laughter.
Jane was holding her son with one arm and her phone in the other hand. “He wants to snatch my phone when he sees me making a call. If I don’t give it to him, he’ll start screaming, demanding that I give him the phone.”
Serenity smiled. “You can get a toy phone that can emit sounds for him.”
“He has one, and he likes it a lot. He’s just playful and wants to snatch mine the moment he sees it. He probably mistook my phone for his.
“Have you eaten, Seren?”
After speaking, Jane spoke to someone else, “Take Connor out for a walk. He’s too noisy.”
Connor was always crying or screaming. He was truly a crybaby like Tim’s son.
A nanny carried Connor away. One of the elders had taken the obedient Chloe away early on.
Everyone loved well-behaved babies.
More importantly, the Johnson family did not have many daughters. There was only Chloe at the moment, while the rest were baby boys.
“We’re on the way to an Italian restaurant. Did you call me because you miss me?”
Jane laughed. “I do miss you. You never came to visit. I would love to go to you, but taking two babies with me isn’t as convenient as traveling alone.”
Chloe was clever.
Whenever Jane was heading out, she would start crying or kick her brother until he cried.
Chloe was only a few months old and did not know how to speak yet, but she knew other ways to call her mother over.
Serenity smiled. “Okay. I’ll pass the phone to Sonny and let them talk. Sonny’s winter break only starts next week. He told us to take him to your place when that time comes.”
Sonny would only return to spend time with Liberty once she returned to Wiltspoon.
“I told Laurence about it. He’s super excited. He told me to take him to buy presents tomorrow. He wants to give Sonny a gift when he comes.”
After speaking, Jane passed the phone to Laurence.
When Laurence heard Serenity’s voice, he greeted her politely. Serenity returned the greeting and passed the phone to Sonny to let the boys talk.
Their conversation lasted until they arrived at the Italian restaurant.
Sonny told Laurence, “Aunt Ser, Jazz, and Jen are taking me to dinner. I have to get out of the car now, Laurence. Let’s talk next time. Aunt Ser and I will go to your house to play when my vacation starts. Uncle Zak promised me.”
“Okay. My winter vacation already started. My teacher’s mentor brought me back right away.”
