Chapter 70 Hold back
*RENEE*
I thought it might not be an important reason.Anna might have thought that Marcelo didn’t want to get married because of how aloof he was so I decided not to delve further.
“Is it okay if I wait here for Marcelo?“I inquired.
“Certainly, “Anna replied. “But Mr. King’s meetings often last over three hours. Can you wait that long?”
“I can”
I settled onto a sofa in the lounge, picking up a book to read
Yet, in less than thirty minutes, the lounge door swung open.
Marcelo, maneuvering his wheelchair swiftly, approached the.
“Why are you still here?” He gazed at me with an urgency in his voice, as if battling to contain his emotions.
“What?” I responded, puzzled.
“Weren’t you supposed to have dinner with someone?”
It appeared that the director was really loyal to Marcelo. A seemingly casual piece of information I had shared with him moments ago had reached Marcelo’s ears with remarkable speed.
“Is the meeting over?” Glancing towards the meeting room I noticed the senior executives hadn’t come out, indicating the meeting was still ongoing. “It’s not over, is it?”
He didn’t answer to that.
“Renee, I need to know, “Marcelo pressed, his mind reeling with the words Renee had shared with Paul, overheard through the meeting room’s surveillance.
*Paul, in a wolf pack, there’s only room for one alpha. Marcelo, with his prowess, need not yield to others. Are you trying to demean Marcelo by having him work under Gary? Logically, you ought to be grateful to Marcelo that he gave up the fight to become King Group’s president and also allowing it still operate in this city.*
Marcelo sighed inwardly. Was she naive? Advocating for him by herself, unaware that if not for the surveillance, her words would have remained unknown to him.
In that moment, a torrent of emotion surged through his veins. His gaze fixed unblinkingly on the woman before
him.
“Are you upset with me, Marcelo?” Setting aside her book, Renee continued, “I bumped into Andrew downstairs.I told him the Koenigsegg I was driving was a gift from you. He probably suspects you’re the KM Group CEO, hence he brought Paul here. I’m sorry…I…”
It was entirely unexpected for Renee when Marcelo kissed her so suddenly.
Overwhelmed by shock, she was momentarily immobilized. Her lower body collapsed onto the sofa, while her upper body leaned into Marcelo’s arms. His hand, gripping her waist, was the only thing keeping her somewhat steady.
“Oh my god!”

The exclamation came from a stunned observer.
A senior executive, who had stepped out to find Marcelo, stood at the meeting room door, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Regaining her senses, Renee attempted to push Marcelo away.
“What are you looking at?“Marcelo, clearly annoyed by the interruption, scowled.
“I’m sorry! Mr. King, I’ll leave now!”
The executive, regaining his composure, hurriedly retreated, ushering away a colleague who had heard his shout.
Renee, covering her face, was bewildered by the unfolding events.
“Marcelo, are you not considering the potential gossip within the company due to your inappropriate behavior?”
“They wouldn’t dare to gossip about me.”
Marcelo seemed carefree. After all, it was his company. He felt entitled to act as he pleased.
“Mr. King, about the meeting…“Luke, Marcelo’s trusted aide, was approached by the executives to intervene in this delicate situation.
“Let’s resume it tomorrow.”
Marcelo, taking Renee’s hand, headed towards his CEO office.
His wheelchair moved so swiftly that Renee struggled to keep pace. “Aren’t you in a meeting? Slow down!”
“Today’s meeting is adjourned. We’ll continue tomorrow. You’re getting off work on time today.” Luke, expressionless, relayed the message to the other executives
Their relief at not having to work overtime was overshadowed by the day’s unexpected events. “Is Mr. King neglecting his duties? Leaving before the meeting ends?”
“Did Mr. King just leave? He won’t hear us, right?”
“Unbelievable! Mr. King was kissing that woman? He’s actually into women?”
“Quiet!His P.A is still here.”
Luke quickly interjected, “It’s fine. I won’t report it.”
He, too, had once doubted Marcelo’s interest in women.
“Mr. Luke, did Mr. King cancel meetings before… also because of that lady?”
Luke, feigning nonchalance, warned, “Don’t spread rumors. Mr. King dislikes gossip about his private life.”
The message was clear. The woman was indeed the cause, but it was to be kept confidential. “Wow! Did anyone see her face clearly?”
“No, I just caught a glimpse, but she was stunning!”
“Mr. Luke, do you have any photos of the CEO’s woman? Can we see?”
Luke shook his head. “I don’t have any photos.‘
He wouldn’t dare risk taking pictures of Marcelo’s wife. That would be a death wish.

As the CEO office door closed with a bang, Renee found herself pressed against it by Marcelo.
He kissed her passionately, a kiss so intense that Rence found it overwhelming.
“Marcelo…You! Wait…I…”
Renee struggled to articulate her thoughts, but her words were continually interrupted by his fervent kisses.
His hand grasping her waist, the other daringly edging under her clothes towards her chest, sent a shiver coursing through her.
Abruptly, Marcelo ceased his advances, releasing Renee from his embrace.
She could feel the warmth of his breath and she marveled at his thick eyelashes.
The intensity in his gaze was deep and unsettling like an abyss.
“When I touched you, why were you trembling?”
His voice was tinged with a husky tone.
“I’m a little…I’m not used to doing it.“She stammered, her legs weak, struggling to steady her breath.
“Renee, you have to get used to my touch.I can tell you like it.“His tone was full of mockery.
