At a high-end shopping center downtown
Nana’s clothes were easy to choose, as they only needed to be decent and comfortable. It didn't take long for Renee to pick out a set of clothes for her.
Jessica, on the other hand, had a dignified temperament, but there was still a girlish look in her eyes. Renee spent over an hour, picking the right clothes for her.
“Hello, please show this..."
“Pack this dress for me!"
Renee was about to ask the saleswoman to bring her the dress so that she could get a better look when a woman's arrogant voice interrupted her.
“Miss Hudson, you also like that dress?" Alma, who just entered the shop arm-in-arm with a man, smiled at her smugly. "Too bad. Vivian wanted it for an elder of the King family."
“Is that so?" Without hesitation,Renee snatched the dress from the saleswoman and strode straight to the cashier. "I'll take this dress, thank you."
Whoever paid the bill owned the dress.
Alma was stunned. She didn't expect that Renee would be so brazen!
"Don't you dare let her pay!" Pointing at the cashier, Alma shouted, "Don't forget that you're all employees of the Rollins Group. Are you all blind? Can't you see the gentleman next to me?"
“I want that one," the man demanded.
His gentle, almost soothing voice had filled Sarah’s ears from the tender age of eight up until she was eighteen. Naturally, Renee had also come to know this voice.
Her expression turned cold and she couldn't pretend not to see him anymore.
Teeth gritted, she looked at the man standing next to Alma.
He was dressed in a khaki windbreaker. He had a handsome face with chiseled features and black, bushy eyebrows, but his eyes were gentle. All in all, he exuded a noble temperament, and the pair of thin-rimmed glasses resting on the bridge of his nose made him look more refined.
Quincy remained one of the most popular young men in the business circle, which was exactly Sarah’s type.
Renee seethed secretly. Damn it! She forgot that this shopping mall belonged to the Rollins family. "Understood, Mr. Rollins."
The cashier immediately canceled the transaction and firmly held onto the dress that Renee intended to buy.
“So, Mr. Rollins, are you going to stand up for your current girlfriend?"Renee sneered.
She specifically stressed the word "current".
Unfortunately, despite her indirect provocation, Quincy's expression didn't change at all.
“What's going on? Are you okay,Renee?"
When Marcelo saw the gloom on Renee’s face, he took her hand and looked at her with concern, as though they were the only two people in the world.
Her hand was a little clammy, so he gently rubbed it to ease the tension.
“Miss Hudson, I'm afraid I'll have to take this dress for Alm. You can choose anything else in the store—my treat of course. Ormes has a limited edition piece made of the rarest leather. Perhaps that might interest you?" Quincy was quite the generous gentleman.
“I don't need you to 'treat' my woman."Marcelo looked at Quincy coldly.
Realizing that he had said something wrong, Quincy hurriedly explained, "Mr. King, don't get me wrong. I'm not interested in your woman."
Renee was so pissed that she clenched her fists, her fingernails digging into her palms.
She, Quincy, and Sarah had known each other for years. How could he not know that she wasn't interested in bags? Of course he knew that Ormes was Sarah’s favorite, not hers.
What the hell was he trying to say?
“My man can buy me Ormes, and some guy can buy Ormes for Sarah. As for your money— spend it on Alma!" With a scowl, Renee pushed Marcelo’s wheelchair towards the exit. "Let's get out of here,Marcelo!"
