Excited murmurs from other girls in the cafe reached Rebee’s ears.
"Look at that guy, he's so good-looking!"
"Yes, handsome for sure, but there's something intimidating about his eyes!"
"He seems to be staring at our cafe. I wonder who he's watching?"
"Marcelo..." The name slipped from Renee’s lips without her even realizing.
What was he doing here?
Howard noticed where Renee was looking and saw Marcelo, furrowing his brows slightly.
"Renee, did he come here for you?"
"I'm not sure,"Renee answered, averting her eyes.
She genuinely didn't know. Shouldn't he be with Vivian at this time?
Or maybe Vivian was in the car with him?
Marcelo had been informed by one of his people that Renee was at the school. Watching her sitting there, laughing with Howard, he felt a surge of unexplained anger.
When Renee looked at him and then calmly looked away, as if she didn't even recognize him, he felt a pang of annoyance.
She chatted with Howard, but pretended she didn't know him?
"Welcome, can I help with…?”
The waiter's voice was cut off by the sound of approaching wheels.
Renee glanced down and first saw the wheelchair, then the stoic face of the man in it.
"Why didn't you come to find me when you got to the company?"Marcelo’s expressionless face seemed intimidating.
Renee struggled to follow his train of thought.
He came in with a domineering air, as if ready for confrontation, yet his question was about why she hadn't sought him out.
"There was no need for that,"Renee responded, staying on point. "I handed my offer letter to Anna; she was supposed to give it to you."
"You mean there was no need for you to come to me, right?"Marcelo asked coldly, giving a scornful laugh and gesturing towards Howard. "But you needed to meet him?"
"What are you talking about?"Renee couldn't believe the words coming out of Marcelo’s mouth. She rose to her feet, offering a quick apology to Howard.
"Mr. King, Renee can choose who she meets. You should respect that." Howard, feeling protective, positioned himself in front of her, staring down at Marcelo with a wary look.
Respect?
Marcelo found the concept almost laughable.
"Do you even know what she means to me?" he challenged Howard, who was not just any student, but a member of the influential Lee family.
Their exchange had drawn the attention of other students in the vicinity.
Howard seemed to struggle for words, then suggested, "Maybe we should take this conversation outside. We wouldn't want to disturb others here."
Renee, trying to keep her anger in check and refusing to help Marcelo with his wheelchair, led the way out.
Howard followed her, his voice low and firm. "Mr. King, it's not right for a man to flaunt an unclear relationship with a woman. It could damage her reputation."
Marcelo, visibly irritated by her defiance, wheeled himself back to his Maybach. In a smooth and rapid motion, he opened the door, shifted himself inside, and sat in the driver's seat. The Maybach jerked into motion. It accelerated effortlessly.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang.
The Maybach had collided with Renee’s Audi, the impact deforming its rear and causing white smoke to billow out.
However, the Maybach remained largely undamaged, a testament to its superior build.
Marcelo and Renee’s eyes met through the windshield.
Renee was in shock. Had Marcelo lost his mind?
"What is wrong with you,Marcelo?" she asked, storming towards him in anger.
Marcelo slid over to the passenger seat. "Sorry,I didn’t see your car there. My driver will handle your car's repairs. You drive mine," he said, as if granting a favor.

Meanwhile,Andrew was waiting for Catherine in his Ferrari, smoking a cigarette. As Catherine entered the car, he inquired, "Is everything settled?"
Tears filled Catherine’s eyes as she shook her head, portraying herself as a victim to Andrew.
"Renee is so ungrateful. She must be happy about the school's decision against me. I didn't think she could be so cruel..."
Andrew’s expression turned grim.
Realizing he wasn't comforting her, Catherine felt a sense of foreboding. "Andrew, you..." she began, but Andrew cut her off.
"Let's break up," he said, his voice firm and overlapping with hers.
