“No, it wasn’t me!“Catherine blurted out in a knee–jerk reaction. But as she realized the undeniable truth in the surveillance footage, she quickly shifted her story. “I just lost my balance. It was an accident. I didn’t mean to hit the table!”

Renee was unaware of Catherine’s presence near the champagne tower since she was out of her line of sight. Now, she was convinced that Catherine had intended the incident

“That’s right!” a guest interjected in support of Vivian. “Miss Hudson, you two hardly know each other. Why would you follow her instructions?”

Another chimed in, “Accusing someone like this is like a mad dog lashing out. It just doesn’t add up!”

The crowd nodded in agreement. The ongoing feud between Catherine and Renee was well known among their social circle, but Vivian and Renee’s strained relationship, though influenced by Marcelo, had never escalated to public disputes. She stressed the word “sister” to remind everyone of the family connection between Catherine and Renee, implying that Renee had some obligation towards Catherine.

The room was stunned into silence. “What?”

Renee remained unfazed. “Kneel, or you can choose the option Marcelo suggested,” she stated calmly.

Andrew observed the unfolding drama, not finding Renee’s stance arrogant or disrespectful. Instead, he felt an unexpected rush of excitement.

“Apologize now!“Felicia hissed at Catherine, pressing on her shoulder. They all knew Marcelo wasn’t one to bluff.

He smiled at her.“It’s okay, it doesn’t hurt.”

She knew he was just saying that.
