"This man is extremely cautious. He never contacts me directly. He knows I'm just a bargaining chip in Brandon's hands, but I've overheard his conversations with Brandon. He told Brandon to lay the groundwork for Micah in Seaview City and Harboridge City, and he also said something else..." Jade frowned, trying to recall. "Brandon asked him if he really intended to keep Micah around, whether he wasn't afraid of letting a wolf into the house. The Gentleman said that Micah was, after all, of Quinn blood... and even if just out of respect for Old Mr. Quinn, he would leave Micah a way out."
Alicia frowned.
She had known all along that Jade couldn't possibly have had direct contact with 'The Gentleman'. With Brandon around, he would never meet Jade alone; she was nothing more than a pathetic pawn.
But if what Jade said today was true, it held significant value.
Micah was of Quinn blood, and out of respect for Old Mr. Quinn, a way out would be left for him...
Who would show the Quinn family such profound respect?
"Jade, did you come here to tell me this so I would help you?" Alicia looked at her testingly.
It was hard for Alicia to trust a woman like Jade. "How can I be sure you're telling the truth?"
Jade clenched her fists. "I know you don't believe me, and I didn't come here today to ask for your shelter or help. I just wanted to tell you. That's all."
Jade took a deep breath, maintaining the lofty demeanor of Ms. White. She looked impossibly proud, as if using her identity as the White family heiress to prop up her last shred of dignity.
She held her hands together proudly and turned to leave after delivering her message.
Her eyes stung with unshed tears. Jade knew Clayton didn't believe her, and Alicia certainly wouldn't either.
It didn't matter if they believed her or not; she had shared everything she knew.
"Where are you going? Brandon and The Gentleman won't let you off the hook. You know too many of their secrets," Alicia asked, frowning.
"None of your business," Jade replied without looking back, heading straight for the elevator.
Alicia couldn't be bothered to argue with Jade, her mind racing with the woman's words.
Micah... Quinn blood, respect for Old Mr. Quinn.
Seeing her pale expression, Felix nodded. "Understood. I'll get right on it."
"And have someone keep an eye on Jade. She came to White Corporation to see me so openly today; Brandon and The Gentleman won't let her live easily after this," Alicia added, thinking of the danger Jade was in.
Jade's value went far beyond this. If she truly realized her mistakes and switched sides, she would be the best pawn to keep Brandon in check.
Felix nodded and hurried out.
Sitting on the couch, Alicia's mind was a mess. She didn't know if she should share this news with Tyrone.
Because she wasn't sure if Jade was telling the truth.
Given Jade's past actions, she was incredibly hard to trust.
After hesitating for a long time, Alicia decided to tell Tyrone anyway. Even if Jade was deliberately misleading them, she trusted Tyrone's ability to make a rational judgment.
