Harboridge City
Before heading to Italy, Alicia made a stopover in Harboridge City.
Winnie had gone home to spend time with her parents, leaving Alicia to visit Maddox and Tyrone’s “graves” with just her bodyguard in tow.
The headstones for Tyrone and the old man were immaculate—fresh flowers replaced any that so much as hinted at wilting. It was obvious that the caretaker took his duties seriously.
That caretaker was Shaw, the Lynch family’s butler.
Shaw looked much older these days, and as fate would have it, he ran into Alicia just as she arrived.
“Alicia, come to visit Tyrone?” Shaw’s voice was rough, heavy with grief.
Alicia replied quietly, “I’m so sorry for your loss, Shaw.”
He nodded, a performance worthy of an Oscar. “You stay with Tyrone for a while. I’ll head back to the Lynch estate and cook something for you. Come home for dinner later, Alicia…”
She nodded, watching Shaw walk away. The sadness in her eyes faded, replaced by a cold determination.
Natalia was already making her move on Easton. Was Shaw really oblivious to all this? Or was he simply turning a blind eye? Over the years, Natalia had manipulated trust-fund heirs abroad—blackmailing and controlling them with secrets and leverage, turning them into nothing more than puppets, dancing to her tune for her own gain. Could Shaw really have missed all the signs of such a cunning, ruthless woman?
Tyrone had faked his death, going so far as to lie in the morgue and let his body go ice-cold, just to make the act convincing. Why? To mislead everyone—because he didn’t trust Shaw.
“Miss, are we heading back to the Lynch estate soon?” the bodyguard asked quietly.
Alicia’s voice was low and steady. “Of course we are. Why wouldn’t we?”
She was going back—to have a proper chat with Shaw.
Drawing her gaze from the retreating butler, Alicia stared at Maddox and Tyrone’s gravestones.
