Uriel glared at her son, her voice heavy with warning. "It had better be exactly as you say. If you actually cave to that old fossil Cary and bring that woman into this family, I will never forgive you."
Sebastian shot a pleading look at Derrick, gesturing for him to take his wife away before things escalated further.
Derrick gave Sebastian a mocking smirk before turning to Uriel with a soft, soothing tone. "Now that we’ve cleared the air, you can relax. Our son isn't that stupid. Leave this to us; we’ll handle it."
Uriel let out a long, heavy sigh, forcing her anger down. She looked at both men and asked, "How do you plan to settle this? That old man is threatening us openly. Are we really just going to let him run wild? Austine Financial Group has stood in Murica for decades, and even during the most turbulent years, no one dared to push us this far. Just thinking about it makes me want to skin that old fox alive."
Sebastian looked at his mother reassuringly. "Don't worry, Mom. I’m going to settle every single debt he owes us, one by one. You stay home and look after Grandfather. Leave the rest to me. This time, I’ll uproot the Cary estate entirely to satisfy the grudge in my heart."
"Good. You absolutely cannot give them another chance to crawl back up," Uriel said through gritted teeth. She then turned to Derrick with a pained expression. "I’m still heartbroken over my diamond mine."
Derrick immediately pulled her into his arms. "Don't worry. We'll make them pay you back with an even bigger mine later."
Sitting opposite them, Sebastian watched the sudden shift in their dynamic and felt like he was being force-fed a display of their affection.
Meanwhile, in Dracovia.
At the Philips family villa.
