Sebastian’s expression remained frigid. "Don’t worry. Callen knows exactly what he needs to do to stay in my good graces. Besides, even with Mildew Corp under his thumb, he can’t cause much trouble. You have to remember that the Mildew family’s true wealth lay within that research base. Now that the entire facility is a pile of ash, a hollowed-out corporation isn't worth nearly as much as it seems. There’s no cause for concern."
"Understood, sir," Unno replied.
Just then, Sebastian’s phone began to ring. He glanced at the screen, and as he answered, his face tightened. "I understand. I’ll head back as soon as possible."
After finishing her morning tasks at the company, Lillian headed to the Philips residence. Since Merrick had been aware of the situation in Radovia, she felt it was only right to check in and let him know she was safe.
Most of the Philips family had already returned to Murica to handle their corporate affairs, leaving only Eric and Merrick in Dracovia.
Merrick pulled Lillian onto the sofa, his voice thick with emotion. "You stubborn girl! How could something so massive happen without you saying a single word to me? If I hadn't called Sebastian myself, I wouldn't have even known you’d been kidnapped!"
He had been terrified when he first heard the news. He had intended to fly to Radovia immediately, but Sebastian had stopped him, promising he could handle it. If it hadn't been for that assurance, Merrick would have been on the first flight out.
Lillian offered a small smile. "Grandfather, everything happened so fast that there wasn't time to call. Besides, you have to have a little faith in me. I wasn't about to let myself get pushed around."
