Chapter 120: The Fall of Million Corp
At that moment, the secretary stepped into the office and announced, “Mr. Killian, the general manager of Skyreach Group is here to see you.”
Killian’s face immediately darkened upon hearing the name. His voice snapped sharply, “Ryan? What on earth is he doing here at this hour?”
The secretary hesitated, clearly uneasy. “H-he’s here to make an offer to acquire the company.”
Killian’s temper flared fiercely. “Tell him to get lost. Now. I’d rather watch Million Corp crumble to dust than hand it over to Skyreach Group!”
His hatred for Skyreach Group ran deep, but it was Ryan who truly ignited his fury. If it hadn’t been for Ryan’s deceit that forced him to squander a billion dollars on that worthless piece of land, Million Corp’s finances wouldn’t have been drained so badly.
Still simmering with anger, Killian barely had time to react before the office door swung open. Ryan entered casually, flanked by his team, wearing a confident smile. “It’s been a while since the auction,” he said smoothly.
Killian’s glare was icy as he retorted, “Showing up unannounced—don’t you think that’s a bit disrespectful to Million Corp?”
Ryan ignored the harsh tone and sank into the sofa with an air of lazy ease. Crossing his legs, he chuckled, “My mistake. I just thought you’d be happy to see me, Mr. Killian. After all, your options are running out fast.”
Killian’s response was sharp and cold. “Save your breath. I’m not selling Million Corp to Skyreach Group. Not now, not ever.”
Ryan had anticipated this obstinance and didn’t seem bothered in the slightest. He leaned forward slightly. “You might want to reconsider. Even if you refuse today, once your stock bottoms out again, I’ll buy up shares from your board members at a fraction of the price. And when that happens, you’ll be left with nothing.”
Killian’s eyes burned with rage. “Get him out of my office.”
Ryan glanced back with a casual smirk, then turned toward the door. As he reached it, he paused and looked over his shoulder. “If you change your mind, you know where to find me.” With that, he exited.
Ryan’s smug grin sent Killian into a blind fury. He grabbed the nearest object and hurled it at the door with all his might.
And just like that, any chance of negotiation was shattered.
In the days that followed, Million Corp’s stock continued its relentless plunge.
