"I don't want to hear this," Sebastian said, his voice laced with a piercing, bitter cold. "I have already told you, if she is alive, I want to see her in person. If she is dead, I want to see her corpse. Even if she is a corpse, she is mine. Besides, I do not believe she would die. No matter what price we have to pay, I will find her."
How could she possibly be dead? She had been reborn into this world and finally found people who loved her. Fate could not be that cruel to her. She was still so young and had barely experienced the stages of life, so how could she just leave?
Seeing Sebastian's grief-stricken expression, Foster said in a low voice, "Understood. We will do everything in our power to find Lilian."
After Foster left, the entire study plunged into a heavy silence once again.
The man leaned back in his chair, feeling the hollow emptiness surrounding him. His desolate expression carried a deep loneliness, as if he could still hear the young girl's soft, sweet voice whispering in his ear, yet the warm sensation of holding her in his arms was completely gone.
He felt as though a gaping hole had been carved out of his chest, making even breathing an absolute agony. Why was he even alive? What was the point?
Lilian, where are you? Where on earth are you? You promised to marry me in a year, and that time is almost here, yet you have vanished. Can you really bear to make me wait for a lifetime?
Meanwhile, on a small island in Murica.
Inside a manor filled with blooming red roses, up in the master bedroom on the second floor.
The sun streamed through the windows, scattering light across every corner of the room.
The girl lay quietly on the large white bed, her face entirely devoid of color. From time to time, a faint blue glow shimmered around her body, so subtle that it was practically imperceptible unless one looked very closely.
Inside the space.
