Triny clutched her burning cheek and wept. "I was wrong. I was so wrong. Please just let me stay. Once Sebastian wakes up, I promise I will leave."
"Do not call me that, and I am certainly not your friend," Uriel said, her voice sharp and unforgiving. "Whether my son lives or dies has nothing to do with you. Keep your fake concern to yourself and show some self-respect. Leave. Right now."
Triny shook her head, her voice trembling. "No. I am not leaving. Sebastian is in this state because of me. I have a responsibility to look after him."
Lilian looked at the sobbing woman and spoke with a chilling calm. "Fine. If you want to stay, then stay. Sit in this empty room and let the silence force you to repent for what you have done." She turned to the men nearby. "Let us go."
Foster immediately gestured for several men to lift Sebastian and they began moving toward the exit.
Lilian supported Uriel, guiding her slowly out of the banquet hall.
Triny watched their retreating figures and called out in a fractured voice, "Lilian! Do not you even hate me? After everything that happened today, are you really just going to let me walk away?"
Lilian paused, her voice sounding hollow and cold. "I do not hate you. I do not have the energy to waste on hating you. You are already pathetic enough. For the rest of your life, you can live with a face that does not belong to you and the memory of the things you have done. That is your sentence." With that, she walked out.
Triny stood alone in the vast, empty hall and let out a piercing scream. Eventually she collapsed onto the floor, remaining there until the lights dimmed and only a single, flickering bulb remained.
By the next morning, news of the attack on the Empire Group Chairman had exploded across every major newspaper and digital outlet. Online rumors were even more vicious, with many claiming Sebastian was beyond saving and already on his deathbed.
