Chapter 1047 The Afterglow

Sebastian sat on the lounge sofa skimming the newspaper with a faint tender smile playing on his lips. He looked relaxed with his legs crossed as the morning sun caught the sharp lines of his face and softened his features.

Standing nearby Louis felt a sense of relief seeing him so happy. Between the news reports and the chatter across the city everyone knew about Lilian’s public confession. They were all thrilled for him.

“Sir are you sure we shouldn’t wake Ms. Lilian? Breakfast is almost over.”

Sebastian set the paper aside. “No let her sleep. She had a bit too much to drink last night so let her stay in until lunch.”

The mood after the fireworks had been perfect so they’d opened a bottle of wine. He only meant for her to have a taste but she’d kept going. As it turned out she couldn’t handle her liquor at all because three glasses in and she was out.

Thinking about the way she’d started acting like a brat at the end of the night he couldn’t help but chuckle. He’d have to make sure she didn’t touch the stuff again no matter the occasion. Otherwise he was the one who’d have to deal with her.

Foster walked in then looking hurried. “PR is asking if they need to handle the morning news. None of it came from our side.”

Usually the media had to clear everything through them first but Sebastian’s move last night had been caught by everyone. Foster had been in shock since he woke up to the media circus.

“Don’t bother” Sebastian said his voice dropping an octave. “I’ve seen it. It’s fine so just leave it

alone.”

Foster let out a breath of relief before remembering something else. “The Empire Group anniversary is next month. Any specific instructions?”

“That soon?” Sebastian asked. While most companies did this annually Empire Group only celebrated every five years. It was a massive event.

“You’ve been so busy it probably slipped your mind” Foster replied. “The team started prepping last month. Now that your relationship is public they need to know if you’re bringing Ms. Lilian or if we’re sticking to the usual solo arrangement.”
