The next day was the weekend, so Harrison didn't have to go to the office. He had the entire day to spend at home with her, and Anastasia was delighted.
After breakfast, just as she was wondering where they should go for the day, a maid delivered an invitation, saying it was from the Lawson family.
“The Lawson family?” Anastasia's attention was immediately captured.
The invitation was handed to Harrison, who glanced at it with a calm expression.
Anastasia leaned in closer. “What’s it for?”
Before Harrison could answer, Stella chimed in from the side, “It's Naomi’s birthday in a couple of days. The Lawsons are throwing a huge party for her to celebrate both her birthday and her return. Of course Harrison would be invited to something like that!”
Naomi’s birthday?
Anastasia stared at the invitation, a sour feeling bubbling up inside her.
Harrison shot Stella a cold glare.
Stella flinched and fell silent.
Remembering her punishment for her loose tongue yesterday, she silently gritted her teeth, thinking she had to make sure Naomi married Harrison.
“It’s just a birthday party,” Harrison said, taking Anastasia's hand to soothe her. “If you don’t want me to go, I won’t. It’s not important.”
Anastasia thought for a moment. “That's not necessary. If you need to go, you should.”
She added with a pause, “I’m not that petty!”
Seeing her puffed-up cheeks, a hint of a smile crossed Harrison’s eyes. “Mm, Ana isn't petty.”
