Naomi? Naomi Lawson?
The woman’s face instantly flashed through Anastasia’s mind.
Naomi, Ms. Lawson. Rumored to be Harrison’s childhood sweetheart, the woman everyone assumed he would marry before Anastasia ever appeared.
She was also the biggest obstacle between her and Harrison in her past life, aside from Aaron and Penelope.
No one knew that when she was preparing to come to Riverton, the person she was most concerned about wasn’t Queena, but Naomi.
She just hadn't seen her yet because Naomi was still studying at a prestigious university abroad. But now, she had finally graduated and returned.
Anastasia's gaze darkened slightly.
Stella was still preening, her chin held high. “You haven’t met Naomi yet, have you? She’s nothing like you. She has family background, beauty, and a top-tier education. She’s always been the number one socialite in Riverton, chased by all the most eligible bachelors!”
Anastasia glanced at her and offered a faint smile. “She sounds impressive. But so what? Harrison loves me.”
“You!” Stella’s smile vanished instantly as she gritted her teeth. “Hmph, just you wait. That was only because Naomi wasn’t back. Now that she is, everything is going to change!”
“Besides, what makes you so sure Harrison married you out of love? He married four other women before you! Doesn’t that prove you’re nothing special?”
Stella’s vicious smile returned. “Speaking of which, when Harrison was on his deathbed, his great-grandmother wanted to find him a wife, and her first choice was Naomi. But he refused. Then, when it came to those other insignificant women, he actually agreed. What do you think that means?”
Before Anastasia could answer, she rushed on, “It means that out of everyone, only Naomi was different! He thought he was dying, so he couldn’t bear to tie down someone he cherished. But as for you and the women before you, he didn't care about you at all, which is why he agreed.”
She decided she would have a good talk with Harrison later.
What she didn’t know was that at that very moment, Harrison’s car was pulling up in front of the Lawson family’s estate.
—Harrison had just received a personal call from the patriarch of the Lawson family, inviting him over as a guest.
The Lawsons and the Lancasters were old family friends with a strong relationship. An invitation from an elder couldn't be easily refused, so Harrison had come.
“Any recent news from the Lawson family?” he asked as he got out of the car.
Logan glanced cautiously at him and replied, “I hear Ms. Lawson is back.”
