“That’s enough! I won’t take a student like you!” Gideon cut her off sharply.

He then turned to Queena. “Queena, is it? I’ve heard of you. Would you be willing to become my apprentice?”

His words stunned everyone in the room.

Bruno was aghast. “Gideon!”

“Don’t say another word. I can’t accept a student like that! But a genius like Queena—I absolutely cannot let her talent go to waste!”

Gideon had been reluctant to accept Anastasia from the start. The student he truly wanted was the gifted individual who had cured Mr. Harrison Lancaster.

Seeing that many people were on their side, Nora and Queena felt a surge of secret triumph. A cold, satisfied smirk appeared on Gabriel’s face.

But then, Anastasia let out a derisive scoff. “If she were my stepsister, I would gladly acknowledge her as family,” she said slowly. “But an illegitimate child? I don’t acknowledge her!”
