Revenge is My Love Language novel Chapter 759

Instantly, she was overcome with ecstatic joy. She gripped Ryan's arm tightly. "Ryan, we—"

"Marina!"

Her gleeful exclamation was cut short. Susan turned to see that the man she had longed for was not reacting as she had.

Ryan had completely forgotten about Susan. He was staring intently at Marina, a mix of anger, shock, and utter disarray on his face.

"Marina, are you sure you want a divorce?!" he demanded, his voice simmering with fury.

Marina, however, was perfectly composed. She calmly looked at the man she had grown up with and loved for so many years.

"Yes. You're getting your wish. Aren't you happy?"

She glanced at her watch. "I don't have much time. Let's go now."

Her decisive, no-nonsense manner left everyone stunned.

Their grandmother, her expression weary, said to her son in frustration, "Go on! Get a divorce! And after you do, don't ever come back. Marry whomever you want after this. I'm done with you!"

With a wave of her hand, she had someone help her to her room to rest.

The Old Man sighed, his voice aged with sorrow as he spoke to Ryan. "You were the one who begged to marry Marina in the first place. If I had known you would treat her so shamefully, I never would have gone to the Lawson family to plead your case. Then the friendship between our families wouldn't be so broken."

The Old Man also rose and left.

Ryan stood frozen in place.

Susan's smile was a bit strained. She looked at the man beside her with helpless adoration, as if he were her entire world. "Ryan…"

She wasn't blind. She had always believed Ryan was hers and that Marina was just clinging to the ridiculous title of his legal wife.

But now, she realized that might not be the truth…

Even Ryan himself was taken aback as he looked at Anastasia.

He heard Anastasia ask, "Father, if you're getting a divorce, how will the assets be divided?"

Before Ryan could answer, she continued in a leisurely tone, "I know the law says it's a fifty-fifty split, but isn't that a bit unfair? After all, you are the party at fault in this marriage."

She cast a meaningful glance at Susan. "It might be out of line for me to say this, but if you and Mother had stayed together, all of your assets would have eventually gone to my Hubby. But now, you have two 'sons' and a 'daughter' on the outside…"

She asked Ryan with earnest concern, "You're not planning to use the assets that rightfully belong to my Hubby to raise them, are you?"

"Of course, it's your money, and you can do whatever you want with it. But as the wife of your only son from your first marriage, I just can't stomach the thought…"

Everyone looked at Anastasia, both surprised and confused.

Though they hadn't known her for long, it was long enough to see she wasn't a petty or greedy person. Why was she haggling over every penny at a time like this?
