Mr. Lynn stroked his chin thoughtfully. "I'll have someone look into it."
Judging by the assistant and bodyguards, her husband was no ordinary man. And the way Logan protected her suggested that his master held their Miss Sterling in high regard.
After discussing company matters for another fifteen minutes, the directors finally emerged from the lounge, just in time for the assistant to return with an update.
"What's the situation?" Mr. Lynn asked.
The assistant looked anxious. "Nearly two-thirds of the people Mr. Frost promoted are resigning! Mr. Lynn, what are we going to do?"
"Then let them resign," Mr. Lynn said firmly.
The other directors still looked worried. Miss Sterling hadn't offered a concrete solution, and if they couldn't find replacements in time, the situation would become dire.
"We have to trust her this time," Mr. Lynn declared. "She has a sharp mind, just like her mother did. I don't believe she's acting on a whim. And even if she miscalculated, she still has us. Do you really think we'd let Unison Pharma fall?"
The others were stunned for a moment, then broke into relieved smiles.
"You're right, she has us! We promised the Chairman we would protect Unison Pharma for her, and we will hand it over intact. We won't let that ungrateful wolf Regan get his way!"

**Rosewood Manor.**
"Hubby, I'm home!"
But Mr. Harrison Lancaster wasn't listening. His grip was like steel, rendering her struggles futile. He had been waiting at home for far too long, and his patience had worn thin. If he said she was late, she was late.
Downstairs, Marcus Jackson and Logan stared up at the second floor. Only when they heard the decisive *click* of a door shutting did they look away.
"Tsk, tsk," Marcus said, the picture of a gossiping bystander. "If Harrison knew how to shapeshift, I bet he'd turn himself into a piece of jewelry just to hang on her. She was only gone for a little while. Can't he handle that?"
"I never knew Harrison was like this in a relationship," Marcus mused, recalling the terrifying look on his friend’s face when some Mr. Calderon had sent a gift. "If Harrison were a woman, he'd be one of those jealous wives you don't dare cross."
He turned to Logan, seeking validation. "Right, Logan?"
Logan shot him a look of pity and exasperation before his gaze slowly drifted over Marcus's shoulder to the space behind him.
