Revenge is My Love Language novel Chapter 485

Anastasia was trembling even harder now.

Harrison might not have known exactly what was going on, but seeing her like this, he quickly put the pieces together.

With a mix of indulgence and helplessness, he squeezed the back of her neck. “You little troublemaker.”

Anastasia looked up at him, her eyes sparkling as she tried to suppress her laughter, feigning innocence. “How am I a troublemaker? Hubby, you can’t just accuse me like that.”

Harrison let out a barely perceptible laugh and didn’t bother arguing. “Come on, let’s eat. Didn’t you just say you were starving?”

He glanced over at Marcus and noticed that the mound of chocolate in front of him had been scooped and mangled until it barely resembled its original, unappetizing shape. Only then did Harrison manage to hold back his own laughter.

Marcus, for his part, could only watch as Harrison clearly caught on to the prank but chose to ignore it—unable to bring himself to so much as scold his wife. Marcus thought to himself, Of course. Figures. With a sigh, he looked away and took another huge spoonful out of spite.

By the end of the meal, Marcus looked like a man who’d lost his will to live.

Anastasia caught Mr. Jackson’s wounded glances for what felt like the hundredth time. Grinning, she strolled over and patted his shoulder. “Learned your lesson? Next time, think before you speak.”

With that, she happily grabbed her cousin’s hand and headed upstairs.

As they climbed the staircase, Juliet couldn’t help but turn back for a peek.

She never would have guessed...

Her eyes met Marcus’s, who froze in place.

The next morning, Anastasia went to her class at Global Harmony Medical Institute, with Juliet tagging along.

“Don’t you have classes today?” Anastasia asked.

Juliet smiled, pressing her lips together. “I took a few days off. I have a show to record.”

Anastasia remembered then—Juliet had gotten into Kingsbridge University, but she’d also entered the entertainment industry. Still, Juliet never seemed to take it very seriously, only appearing on the occasional show or event.

Even now, when she mentioned it, her tone was so casual it was clear she didn’t care much for that world.

Watching the car drive off, Anastasia finally turned and entered the Medical Institute.

She’d only taken a few steps when someone stepped in front of her—Cora.

Anastasia stopped. “Is something wrong?”

Cora looked awkward, hesitating before she finally spoke. “I came to apologize. I shouldn’t have gone along with everyone else without knowing the facts. I’m sorry…”

Anastasia raised an eyebrow, her gaze probing.

If she remembered correctly, Cora had always been one of Lauren’s most loyal supporters. And now she was here, apologizing?

“You’re apologizing to me—does Lauren know about this?”

“Of course not,” Cora replied, looking even more uncomfortable. “Lauren’s proud. She’d never admit she was wrong, but please believe me—she’s not a bad person. I know she feels guilty about everything that happened. I just hope you won’t hold it against her…”
