She patted her still-aching head and was about to sit up when she realized someone was beside her.
She turned her head and saw Harrison leaning against the headboard, a weary look on his face.
"Hubby!"
She twisted around and threw herself into his arms.
Harrison's eyes snapped open the moment she moved, and he reached out to catch her.
"You're awake? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"
She nuzzled against his chest playfully and whimpered, "My head still hurts a little."
A cold glint flashed in Harrison's eyes.
He had been too low-key this past year, for someone to dare lay a hand on his Ana.
"What were you doing back there?" Anastasia asked, looking up.
"Didn't you just wake up?" Harrison asked, looking down at her. "How did you know I stayed behind?"
Anastasia huffed. "I was just sleepy then. And I woke up at the hospital."
She had just felt unwell at the time. When she opened her eyes and saw only Logan beside her, she asked a few quick questions and then let the doctors do their examination.
"Nothing much. Just teaching them a lesson," Harrison said in a light tone, gently stroking her hair.
As for how he'd taught them a lesson, he glossed over it, not planning to tell his Ana the details.
Even though she already knew what kind of man he was, he still had no intention of showing her his darker side.
He knew she loved him, but he was still afraid that one day, she might come to fear him.

She even spun around on the spot to prove it.

"And that son from the Lawson family! He's already engaged to someone else, so why does he keep harassing you? He's the one who brought this whole disaster upon you!"
Marina and Carter, who had rushed back after hearing the news, also came forward, their faces etched with worry and sympathy.
Emily, ever blunt, was both sympathizing with her and cursing out the Mitchell and Lawson families.
The family only quieted down when the patriarch finally spoke.
The patriarch's expression was also grim. He said to Harrison, "As for the Mitchell family, you have full authority to handle it. Don't hold back."
How dare they lay a hand on his granddaughter-in-law? Did they think the Lancasters were all dead?
